XTREMEH18 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 (edited) Hey Guys.. I'm currently running VP C-12 race gas on my shee, but the thing is it's getting too expensive to run, it's 9 bucks a gallon. So I'm thinking of running Av gas, how many of you are running Av gas and haven't had any problems ? My psi is over 200 and timing is at 7. I have ran Av gas before but not with my current setup. I also have talked to a couple of people and told me they have never had any problems either, so what do you guys think ? Edited May 16, 2005 by XTREMEH18 Quote
NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 YOU'LL BE OK RUNNIN IT... damn though man 9 bucks a gallon... sheesh!! i think they can ship it to you for cheaper then that bro Quote
Big Blue Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 Why are you running 200 + on your compression? Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 Holy Sh*t $9.00 a gallon ! Your tag line is wrong because you have to live in California at that price. Quote
XTREMEH18 Posted May 16, 2005 Author Report Posted May 16, 2005 Yeap, that's right 9 bucks a gallon, welcome to Florida or should I say Miami. Why 200 + psi... why not ??? hehehe... Naw it's mainly a drag setup what I have, it has 68mm pistons, comp 200+, and not to forget it's also stroked. Which brings me to my next question. I recently got the clutch lock up on it and the clutch cover had to be modify so the clutch lock up would fit inside. The thing is they didn't do a good job and it leaks, so I'm looking for a clutch side cover that will allow it to fit ? Does anyone know where I can get one from a trusted site or company ? And I want to get a new one, since my original side cover was modify. Back to Av gas topic... so from the looks of it, I guess I'll be running Av gas soon ! Quote

XTREMEH18 Posted May 17, 2005 Author Report Posted May 17, 2005 Alright guys thanks for the info!... I will see what I do about the gas and which one I'm finally going to run. Thanks for the website I'm going to order my clutch cover mod. Now which one to get the clear looks bad as* but, I heard of them cracking on people from getting on their shees with their boots; so I might just get the billet aluminum. As for my comp 200+, I have a TDR head on there and I spoke to the people down at TDR. They told me that my compression is a bit high and to bring in the head to try to bring the comp down to 180, so I'm going to do that when I get a chance. He also told me that if I was to bring it down to 150 psi to run pump gas, that I would lose 10-15hp .. wow !! So I guess I'm only going to bring it down to 180 and still run VP or AV gas.. or if I can get a hold of that 110 race gas, so let's see, but thanks for the help guys ! Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 yea that high of compression is gonna kill the revs on a drag motor. bring it back down to about 170 and run sunoco gt blue 100 oxygenated...its about 4 bucks a gallon here in missouri. i just buy 55 gallons at a time. Quote
