momo20 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 well i got some bad news the banshee is down...its an 1987 shee....me and my friend took apart the cylinders..and the left side rod is broken....and the rod managed to make a nice little hole at the bottom of the crank case......the bike has the pro design heads...they were on the bike when i bought it.....so my question is 1: where is the best place to get a new/used crank case cheap... 2: what is the deal with the rz 350 cranks. will they work on the banshee??or do u have to swap the gears too. if so how much?? 3: if my rod is broken does that mean i need a new crank or can i just rebuild the current one? 4:and with a rod being broke and it shoting threw the crank case on the bottom, what parts am i looking at getting....and the approx...cost of all of this.... 5: where is the cheapest place to get used parts from...like cranks and such me and my friend can do all of the putting together which will save on labor there, but as far as the engine work goes a shop will have to do that....thanks guyz and try to list all of the places that i can get parts from...i need to fix it soon... i am sooo depressed right now...at least my 1994 stealth r/t twin turbo is running..lol Quote
superchicken Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 you can probably get away with a new crank,lower case and rebuild on the entire thing.are the jugs damaged at all?there are some places to get cranks rebiult like TDR i think but i think your better off buying a new one.cases go on ebay. Master of Faster Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 You can get the crank rebuilt, a new rod is about 90 bucks and the counter weight and pin (if you need them) is about 70, but after labor you might be better off buying a good used one. Quote
