SICK BOY Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 We got a brand new 05 Silverado LS today. I'll get some pics up pretty soon. We got it for 14500 out the door, we traded the sierra in for 8k, so it was a pretty good deal. I'd like to put an exhaust system on it, but I don't know what to get. I want something stupidly loud. any suggestions? 366217[/snapback] Congrats My deptment makes the HVAC units for those trucks. My actual job is to balance the blower motors. Quote

slowpokebanshee Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I have an 02 silverado w/4.8 (yes its a v-8) and I have JBA headers w/cat back 3" pipe w/flowmaster 40 series muffler and 3" tailpaipe. you want loud this is the way to go....personally I hate the "dron" you get at about 2500 rpm, like pulling a trailer or something....I want to change to a spintech muffler, sounds like a flowmaster, but w/out the droning. and I also noticed a slight increase in mileage. NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 i've had bout 4 gm's in the past year... i've ran borla, corsa, and flowmaster...i am currently stout on this new flowmaster designed crossflow muffler they provide for just the GM trucks.. a crossflow dumped or all the way out the rear sound really nice and throaty like a old stang sound.. deep hollow and loud. this crossflow does away with having to run a H-Pipe. it runs the tru dual out and sounds really nice... let me know and i'll get a sound bite for ya on mine.. but it will be froma 5.3... i currently run a 6.0 motor.. but i had it on my yukon and it was loud. good price.. stainless steel and its the only muffler that keeps the warranty from GM all other mufflers will void that. iceman Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Posted May 9, 2005 I would like to hear sound clip, if its not too much trouble. I dont think theres much difference in the 5.3 and 4.8 exhausts. would anyone recommend just getting the exhaust tubing from pep boys and running it straight back? Quote
NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 heres some sound bytes chevy crossflow sound bytes.. even better in person Quote
iceman Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Posted May 9, 2005 sounds nice but its not what im looking for. I still like the sound of the corsa exhaust. Quote
NEVER SATISFIED Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 yeah i found out thats not even the crossflow muffler.. that was like a mellow tone 50 series exhaust. i'll get a vid and sound of the one on my truck. Quote
iceman Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 didnt want to start a new topic, but I think we are going to go with the SS style body kit. I was wondering if I got the corsa dual exhaust that exits out the rear, would the tips fit into the two slots that are on the rear ss style bumper? sort of a random question but I cant find any measurements or info anywhere.
