white trash Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 can you find neutral when the motor is off? Dont sell it dude. The guys here can help you get it fixed, gotta be something simple. Did you take of your clutch, and clutch basket? Quote
Wallynut Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Not finding neutral is common. Your not really clear on your explaination of what is happening. Is your motor die'n cause the tranny feels locked up or is it just killing when you go to take off, like total loss of power. If the later, check your parking brake connection, that one has gotten many people. It's a safety thing, like switchs on kick stands for streetbikes. If you removed the parking brake, (if my memory is working) You might need to connect the wires. Let everyone know if your still having problem. Quote
reitler09 Posted April 29, 2005 Author Report Posted April 29, 2005 the quad runs great motor wise revs perfect, the clutches are good but when i go to pull out in first gear its like somebody has a crowbar between the sproket and the swingarm its like the bike is wedged. And the banshee ran perfect before this just needed rebuild but it was an 87 so i decided to do the makeover.....maybe something in the bottom end? i was super careful about everything but does anybody think something is in the bottom end and i cant find nuetral at all, with motor off or running Quote
FORMULASPEED Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Check your rear brake caliper bolts, they maybe pressing on the rotor. Quote

tyguy71 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I've heard of things like this happening on 250r's...I dont know if they are the same on banshees, but somethimes if you forget to tighten the chain tightening nuts they will turn themselvs tight and get the chain so tight that it wont move Quote
JARE77 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Check your axle bearings, sounds like they are locked up! Quote
89Steeda Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Take the chain off and eliminate everything beyond the engine. Quote
