PRAIRIEOUTLAW Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Exactly how does running a shorter swingarm help me in MX with the Banshee? I mean does it allow my tires to stay on the ground better through certain parts of the track or what? I've been riding forever but just recently started racing mx and learning everything as I go since I don't have anyone to help. Quote
Ryda85 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 it puts more weight over the rear wheels giving you more traction Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 It also makes you shorter, making it a hellofalot easier to throw around! Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 they got it, puts your ass over the tires for more traction, and makes you swing around easier in the corners, most people like -2's, but some use -1's to Quote
Shaggy Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 i have a -1 and i noticed that you hook up so much better and corner like a monster espcially with some +2+1 lonestars Quote
Blue Duece Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 it changes the whole geomitry of the bike ......instead of fishtailing in corners, your hooking and the front end is lifting, making handling obsticles a brezze (kinda like a fast two wheeler) verses, some long stretched out sled thats just plowing into every woop and rut on the track i.e. a stock swing arm and a chassis with a 2+1+2 front end....... PRAIRIEOUTLAW Posted April 29, 2005 Author Report Posted April 29, 2005 Thanks for the info everyone. I'm starting to set mine up for mx and was wondering. I still can't decide rather to spend the money on the shee or just buy a mx ready 250r. I found one with everything including an aluminum LSR frame for around 4. Awsome bike and I just don't ever see the shee being as easy to ride on the track as the R, even with the 3 grand I'll have to spend on suspension. Oh well, decisions decisions. Quote
stu Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 no doubt about it..if you ride mostly MX get the 250r. there is still nothing can match a r round the track stu Quote
broke Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 I found one with everything including an aluminum LSR frame for around 4. If you don't buy that, let me know. Quote
