JArmShee Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 I was doing some riding yest. On tight trails. Through some puddles. etc. After a while my outerwears got damp. and the quad startign running like shit. is it because the air is being restircted due to the wet outerwears and its running too rich. sheefreak Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 More like water in your fuel. If you are going to ride trails w/water occasionally you would be better off to run airbox w/no lid. It gives you a sort of splash guard and there is not much of a performance difference between pods, and airbox w/no lid. Quote
i12gofast Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Yeah lose the twin K&N's, get an airbox with a power lid...I put those extra KN's on the old ass yamaha 200 that jay rides....it sounds like it burps now, wheelie's like crazy.... Quote
kenr74 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Yep, go back to an airbox if you ride wet stuff. I ride almost all sand so I have the K&N on. Went riding with my son in the mountains through a big puddle. Sucked in some water and had to have my son pull me on his little 100cc for about 1/2 mile before it would start up again. Now that was fun. Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 outerwares are junk. i used to run one but it got a little dirty one time and the fuckin thing wouldnt even run. i quit using them unless i go to the sand. i dont think they are worth the hassle. Quote
JArmShee Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 Well it ran and started every time fine. But I thought it could have been loading up also because of the type of riding i was doing with the big carbs etc. It runs fine today so it was nothing permanent Quote
RNBRAD Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Outerwears need to step up their quality for one thing, I'd like to see a double layered unit and possibly something more durable than the material they use. Quote
