joshv5.0 Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 i ordered a new clutch lever tuesday because this shop promises me that it will be here for the weekend. then they string me along until friday afternoon when i call them. so they can tell me, "oh sorry man it didn't get here" if they couldn't get it they should have owned up and said that to begin with no riding for me in this beautiful weather Quote

I don't bother with them anymore as I have too many other options to use. When I first bought my banshee they sold me a set of paddles. 2 weeks later when we take off for our first duning trip, a week after they said the paddles would be in, they were still "not here". A month later they show up.... Quote
rjvoight Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 It is a bunch of bull. Buddy just bought his fiance a brand new LE Raptor, bought pipe, K&N, Prodesign Adapter wheels and extreme haulers. Needless to say he dropped some coin on the package. They did the same thing. We told them we were going to the Dunes and they assured us the wheels and tires would be in before we left. 2.5 weeks later still now wheels and tires. Call and ask them about it and they give us some line about how hard it is to get 9 paddle extemes. Funny part is the shop in Florence had two sets, the shop in Eugene had 1 set, Their main competitions had a couple sets, even the MX Shop next to the mx track in Albany had a set. So we tell the guy this and he says he does not believe us at which time my buddy tells him to give him the money back. Then we are told they can "only give an instore credit" because it was part of his "package deal". My friend just about went through the roof. After talking to a manager and a guy in parts, the tires some how appeared the next day. What a bunch of crap. RJV Quote

Apparently from the factory there were some studs missing from the case and the case halves had seperated on our first dune trip with that bike. We go to the dealer, and ask for the mechanic. We talk to him, and the first thing he does is starts it. Then he asks my buddy what type of oil he's running in his gas. Then we point out the 1/4" gap in the cases and the sand thats all the way around it. They cleaned it out and reassembled it and thats it. No warranty at all, even though they told all of us that bought them that year (8 total) that they came with a 6 month warranty. Also, the guy got defensive when my buddy started yelling at him about what a bunch of bullshit it is that we go in there drop around $65K for bikes gear etc....and they run him around on his bike. The "mechanic" told us "They don't pay me enough for people to just show up and call me a dick head" Later that day, talking to a sales person, we find out HE WAS THE OWNER! That group owns 3 dealerships and I won't go to any of them. Buncha cockbags. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 my local dealership is like that. i only buy from them when i have to. they charge an arm and a leg, the service is horrible like i was getting a hoodie there and we were standing at the counter for a good 30 mins until someone came and helped us out . i ordered huevous 5 from then and it took pretty close to a month and a half to get it. like whats up with that? so now i just order my stuff from a yamaha shop about 2 hours away and its always on time and very nice people Quote
racer Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 shit guys, i work for a damn dealer and its like that. im unsure about your places, but our shipping/recieving dept has got it together and we still get in late parts constantly. im not sure if its because we deal with a lot of underdeveloped companies or what. all i know is that it sucks. Banshee~ Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 The only shop in our town is a kawasaski shop, and they got my sandstars(front and backs) in, in 4-5 days. Quote

You would think a dealer would get preferential treatment from a company like Skat Trak or Douglas rims. I emailed Skat Trak about some paddles, and I could have them here from Skat Trak in about a week UPS ground. Why couldn't a dealer get the same thing?? I think the dealer I bitched about just doesnt have it together. I just wish I knew how they got so big. They sell every brand of bike, Yam Hon Kaw Suz Bombardier blah blah blah including Harleys now between 3-4 dealerships. I think they hired someone to come in full time to keep the mountain of cash from tipping over and hurting somebody. Quote

Had some problems with the shee and he tells me to read the owners manual. Layton, Newgate cycle. Bunch of sorry SOB Quote

I've actually become sort of a friend w/the manager in the parts department. So now, not only do I get an extra 10% off, if my shit's late, they scramble like hell to find it. Quote

rocketboy Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 theres a shop in my area that sells damn near everything, even honda and suzuki cars and trucksand i mean everyting :bikes, harleys ,scooters ,quads ,cars you name it, its very huge . the service is absolutley horrible ,parts are always late, always way way higher than rockey mountain or other atv/mc companys are , as a rule of thumb if its not in stock, i just call up rockey mountain and if they dont carry it ,i find a dealer in the back of dirtwheels who does . if your gonna have to wait 5 days might as well save some cash and cut out the middle man markup and bullshit IMO . I bought some gloves there about 1.5 years ago, only because I didn't feel like driving to Carrys and I was in the area. When I grabbed the gloves and laid them on the counter someone behind the counter actuallly said "That was an easy $30.00." That just kind of rubbed salt in the wounds. They absolutely dont have it together as far as I'm concerned. Actually a couple of my buddys got into motorcycles, and they drove to Brigham to buy rather than buy from Newgate just a couple miles from their houses. I'd probably do the same thing. I also heard that Honda of Bountiful is merging with Full Throttle Motorsports in Centerville. Honda of Bountiful has done pretty good with me so far, actually the parts guys knew what they were talking about when I was on the phone with them for 1/2 hour getting part numbers and prices together a while back, but I haven't tried FTM yet. I'm pretty sure if they get merged they'll sell everything and I plan on giving them a shot. Also, ADS doesn't have too much going on either. Took 20 minutes to get an Outerware for my 2:1 that is too big for it anyway and alot of the shit in there looked really pricey but I don't have alot of buying experience from ADS yet. I might if their prices ever come down. Quote
SICK BOY Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 (edited) The closest Yamaha dealer to me is only about 20 mins, but I wouldn't buy a piece of gum from those damn sack of sh*its. They have a cocky little sh*t that works at the parts dept that never has a clue what he's talking about.I buy my oil and sh*t at a Honda dealer,or I'll drive 45 mins to another Yamaha dealer (that I think is the best dealer I have ever delt with).
