westexgt Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 My banshee would start and run fine for a couple minutes, then die. Thought it was bowls running dry, but gas lines and everything is clear. I checked everything else and it is good, except wiring. This wiring harness has been hacked on by a ton of other people. Does anyone have a wiring diagram, and how do you eliminate the key? Thanks, Kevin Quote
banshee76179 Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 U should have to wires that connect to the key cut them and wire them together. As for Ur other prob. Do U have spark? Check for for broke wires, also maybe bad stator!!! Quote
RNBRAD Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 wiring diagram 348473[/snapback] Great diagram RBD. We need to see if Lee will add a (charts)forum with charts and info with all this type of stuff. Compression charts, wiring diagrams, torque values etc... and make them all a sticky. Just a thought, I just like to recall this stuff easier. Quote

BenBB Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 Hey Kevin! There's another wiring diagram in the FAQ, at the very end, that shows a simplified wiring diagram, and you can go one step further if you eliminate the lights; All you need to make it run is red, green, red/white, green/white and black from the stator, they all go to the CDI (black also grounds to the frame at an eyelet terminal where the voltage regulator mounts; you don't need the reg except for lights but need that ground). Coming out of the CDI you need black & orange going to the coil, and black/red connected to black (this eliminates the key switch, when the black/red to black circuit is complete the ignition is "on"), and black/white going to a kill switch (when black/white is grounded to black the ignition is "off"). Like you said it sounds more like fuel starvation the way it starts then dies, but there's always a chance you got a loose connection somewhere or wires that are rubbing against the frame. Good luck. westexgt Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 Looks like it is the stator. Took the flywheel off and there are several tabs that looked damaged, a couple were bent over pretty bad. I also found a couple spots in the wiring where wires were worn to metal and touching others. After I get a new stator I will let you guys know if that fixes it. Kevin Quote
