I forget what size to get, but I just got some in a huge pack and used whatever fit. I use the hose clamps on everything...stock clamps aren't as cool I don't think. Bob Quote

Yaxy Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 If your 28's are Mikuni's your stock boots and clamps are fine. Unfortunately with reed spaceres putting on the boot is a big pain in the butt and usually requires taking off the airbox and sliding the boots on as an assembly. My suggestion, loose the reed spacers, it will make your life alot easier Chris Quote
blazinlow Posted March 28, 2005 Author Report Posted March 28, 2005 they arent they are keihin carbs i just cant get the boot to go over the carb ive demeled the lip out the inside of the boot and trimmed the air box a lil even cut a lil excess off the boot its self but it just wont go on the carb ive even used a heat gun to heat the boot with no sucess and cant find anyone that sells boots to fit it. chris642 Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 let me tell you, it is such a pain in the ass to get the 28mm's on the stock boots. you defiinally need longer screws for the clamps. it just takes lots and lots of patience. i swear i never want to do that again, it is a good idea to try to clamp it together with a dividing workbench or something once you get it on. the boots will slip off very easily once you get it on so hold that shit tight. i didnt have to cut or modify the boots at all, it just took a while to get it done. blazinlow Posted March 30, 2005 Author Report Posted March 30, 2005 well ive got it went to the local walmart and bought a dremel tool. did a lil shavin on the boot not too much but enuff. boot slips on nice i had to remove my air box to get the boot to go onto the air box but only cause i have the reed spacers. it works great just dremeled the lip out the inside of the boot.thanks for everyones input Quote
