Get some hose clamps. I forget what size to get, but I just got some in a huge pack and used whatever fit. I use the hose clamps on everything...stock clamps aren't as cool I don't think.

Just cut the stock boot right where the clamp sits for the stock carbs. Then use a hose clamp and walaa your done.

If your 28's are Mikuni's your stock boots and clamps are fine. Unfortunately with reed spaceres putting on the boot is a big pain in the butt and usually requires taking off the airbox and sliding the boots on as an assembly.

My suggestion, loose the reed spacers, it will make your life alot easier

let me tell you, it is such a pain in the ass to get the 28mm's on the stock boots. you defiinally need longer screws for the clamps. it just takes lots and lots of patience. i swear i never want to do that again, it is a good idea to try to clamp it together with a dividing workbench or something once you get it on. the boots will slip off very easily once you get it on so hold that shit tight. i didnt have to cut or modify the boots at all, it just took a while to get it done.
