jmoore Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Hey guys, whats involved with porting? Does it require engine removal? What needs to come off the engine to have this work done? Also, what kind of costs are their? thanks for any input Quote
stclark816 Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Depends on what you wanna do. Your cylinders have to come off regardless. If you are getting a drag port, sometimes the builder likes to port the cases. I recently had my drag style porting done, cost me $500 for the porting of the cylinders and $100 for the porting of the cases. There are alot cheaper options out there. Just really depends on what kind of porting you want and what kinda of riding you do. I used to have Eric Gorr's woods port that cost me $225. I liked it alot. Had a ton of midrange power. What kind of riding do you do? Drag? Sand? Woods? Track? Quote

fastbanshee4u Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Do you guys get commission or something. There is a ton of people who do porting. It doesnt take rocket science, just some measurements and some know how. Not to mention I can send cylinders to any builder and I have his specs, if hes giving u your moneys worth.I stated porting in my garage a few years ago,and my buddies and I have not been beat by the big names on the 1/2 mile track. Yes alot of engines do run good but for $200-300 bucs in porting by some run just as good as others . Quote

Ive had good experiences with my previous port job so I will reccommend it to anyone and everyone. His woods port is friendly to the wallet and hauls some ass. Seems like a good enough reason to me to tell people to give him a call. Quote

I haven't run mine in the trails yet since I just got it back together but I'm gearing up for some good riding this weekend. I plan on getting vids this weekend unless something goes wrong. You can't go wrong for the price. Stephen do you still have the vid of your shee with them, you should repost it? Quote
stclark816 Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 My old Gorr Ported Banshee... Try that, it may or may not work... Im not at ahome and I did a search and found it. RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE AS or however you do it. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Try that, it may or may not work...343946 It works, that video sold me on them. Looks more like a drag port than a lowly woods port in the vid. Quote

Me personally, I have a trinity mild port..But, some people on here and don't like'em...too each its on..Me personally I would rather read some info from people who has had theirs done...Thats what most forums are.....INFO!!! You dont need anything else really. Another question...is the price double since we have 2 cylinders? 344204 No, thats 225 for BOTH cylinders. Cant beat that with a stickball bat. Quote
