fixitrod Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Very Very nice work. I love seeing changes will proof. Quote
6sic6 Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Excellent idea, backed up with photographic evidence. Open and shut case. How is the lever travel? Does it travel further to open all the way? Any other mods required? Just curious. I would consider replacing the cover or grinding the honda off. Quote
BdBanshee Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 i went from a thunb throttle quad to a twist throttle quad and the twist gets my vote for easy! id say to everyone who hates a sore thumb should go twist. 346916 Probably be a lot of funerals to go to, mine included! Quote

fixitrod Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Just for info, I cut 5 coils from the springs in my pwk's and I do not have any trouble with them sticking open. Quote
MonkeyBoy Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 Just for info, I cut 5 coils from the springs in my pwk's and I do not have any trouble with them sticking open. 348332 I only cut two off. i was scared that they wouldn't close all the way. Do they close all the way? Snap closed? Quote
fixitrod Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 They snap closed just fine. I may have stretched them out a bit too after I was done... It's been a while. But, it sure as hell helped a lot !!!! Quote
trigg Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 i've just ordered said throttle assembly so when it finaly arrives i will bolting it stright on Quote
89Steeda Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 I don't cut coils off the springs, I grind the outside diameter down to make them softer. Think about it, if you went out and cut coils off of the front suspension. It wont make it softer, it'll be harder. Take a stock front Banshee shock spring, put it on the ground, put your weight on it and compress it. Now, cut it in half. Put your weight on it again. A lot stiffer isn't it. The same principle applies to throttle springs. Quote

Justintoxicated Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 (edited) my carbs came with cut springs, thumb still gets tired every now and then... OMG! Dude! Your banshee says HONDA on it! Leaving coild on the carbs makes it harder actualy...your creating less pressure on the spring. Typicaly less coil springs are made of thicker material or stiffer material. In this case it works....it does NOT make the thumb stuffer. Edited April 17, 2005 by Justintoxicated Quote
evil Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 damn nice thread, this is what the hq was all about back in the day Quote
zilladude Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 The 400ex throttle with the stock carbs is great. Feels like a single carb set up. As for saying Honda, a little grinder action solved that problem. Quote
