any slop is too much. just today, one of the guys i was riding with took a small jump down from a hill climb and the ball joint/a-arm let loose and he went for a roll. his actually pulled the ball joint out of the a-arm, ripping the nut off of the threads and over the cotter pin. he knew it was worn and had some slop, but figured he'd fix it sometime after today's ride. and to answer your other question, the ball joint cannot be replaced, it's welded to, or permanently part of the a-arm. like i told him, now you have an excuse to make upgrades.

welcome :D

what kinda arms you got? If they are stock, I don't think the ball joints are replacible. -but I know you can replace the bushings.

check out this parts finder for stock stuff.

JEEZ! You can spend too much on a banshee? I didn't think it was possible! 11k and counting..... :flush:

Look on ebay, West TX. You'll find factory arms for pennies.

I had a little play in mine and I thought it was ok, but I was wrong. I drag raced my buddies up and down a mile long stretch of beach like ten times full throttle top speed. Then I stopped to let it cool off. When I hopped back on I started up a little hill and when I got to the apex of it all of the sudden wham I m thrown off the banshee and it is flipping right at me. It stopped before it hit though. So I though a tire fell of or somehting. BHut it was the bottom ball joint dropped out of the a arm and spiked in the ground sending me flying. All i could think of was if that happened 10 minutes before I would had been really messed up or dead. So if you think it might need replacing replace it before you could really get hurt.
