I'm still hung up on what pipes to go with for gorrs woods port. I was considering ct's mx pipes, but cant seem to get much info on them. I am also leaning towards T-5's though. I have seen some of stclarks videos and his shee hauls ass. Im just concerned about losing bottom-end power with the t-5's. Any opinions would be appreciated. I think the t-5's sound awesome too, but like i said, im concerned about not having strong bottom end power with the woods port if i run them.

If you want good lowend pipes to match your port work then I wouldn't go with toomeys. I agree they are a nice sounding pipe and would make good power, they'll just come on a bit higher in the rpms than what you probably want and come on with a strong hit that will give you a lot of wheel spin. I'd recomend FMF's, PTR mids, or LRD for a good midrange and all around pipe.

toomeys seem to me like midrange pipes. theygive a real mid punch ,personally i like pc for woods riding the have are very solid linear powerspread. :bolt:

Toomeys and PC pipes are very much a high rev pipe, not even close to a midrange pipe. They start to come into the power around 6500rpms, far from midrange...If you want bottom end power, then get some PT mids, they have the most bottom end power from a twin pipe w/ almost no hard hitting powerband like the high revs..Why would you want high revs for wood riding anyways?? Pointless.

Im not just looking for big gains in bottom, i need power gains everywhere. i was wondering if i ran the t-5's with the woods port if it would give me just that. im hoping i could get all that bottom and mid from the woods port, plus the top-end from the toomeys.

It's a nice theory, but it just does'nt work like that. you could get lucky, but chances are, a top end pipe would just make your low end porting useless.

Listen to Banchetta! if you're gonna be running a lot in the woods and tight trails, PT mids will be way better than PC or toomey. . Even though the PTs are a low-mid pipe, you will still gain power all over. It'll just be concentrated more where you need it.

Pro-circuits are a top end pipe? Have you ever ran a set? PC's are awesome for trail riding because as was said, the power is very linear. They don't FEEL as fast as other pipes because they don't have a sudden hit, but in most cases the bike will be faster due to added midrange.

Bottom end power: FMF GNARLY or Paul Turner MidRange

MidRange: FMF Fatty or Procircuit

Note: Fatties and ProCircuit are good all around pipes that work with porting, but first ask Eric of what he recomends.

Do not know how T5's will performe with a woods port. I do know that they are one of the best pipes for a moded shee.

Ask Eric about a good pipe for the type of porting he is doing, he most know what works better with his stuff.

Patriot Racing recomends Paulturner for MX and DMC for Trail riding, T5's for dunning and CPI's for 400cc duners.

I totally and utterly disagree. My bottom/midrange was unreal, and my top was very good as well. It is a nice theory, and the theory worked for me. I even ran very high gearing with my woods port and toomeys and I had no problem on bottom at all. In my case, the top end pipe DID NOT make my bottom end port useless. I loved it.. If you talked to sredish, he had PT mids on his gorr ported engine and didnt like the fact that it fell off so quick. He said his had all the midrange in the world, but needed more top end. I had all the top end I could want and I didnt lose my bottom end one bit. I say go for the toomeys. I think that if these guys were to ride a similar set up of mine, they would think differently.

I think that a set of Rockets might be pretty awsome for and all around motor with portwork that is intended for good botom end power. Of coarse the bottom would be beter with something like fatties but the mid to top would be way better with the Rockets and still with decent bottom. Rockets are going to have a bit of lag on any motor but the power comes on smoother than Toomys, at least typically.

i always felt like the toomeys had a hard punch on the t5 shes ive rode in the past ,not that thats a bad thing butit isnt desirable for the woods. i had pc pipes before rockets and,i really liked the smooth ness of the powerband they offered ,much less violent than t5s but they also didnt feel as powerful either compared to the t5 setup, the rockets are definitly smoother than the toomeys.they have such a wide mid to top pull, i would think most of the uusable power on the STOCK motor and no compression increase would be to high up in the rpm to be a usefull trail or woods pipe.ive tested them on my dynobutt 5000  but in this case id say go with the pc or ptr or maybe dynoport 2-1  my .02
