quad4me Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 (edited) find someone with a "slim jim." My 98 took a few minutes..but the bend on the end of the tool is about 10 degrees or so...maybe 15...IN towards the inside of cab. about 5-7 inches from the latch end of door. thats about the best i could tell you. Good Luck! Edited February 23, 2005 by quad4me Quote
NugShee Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Its a "ford" if you stand there long enough the whole door will fall off then you wont have to worry about keys any more. Just bust out the window, by the time it rains again youll have it in the shop so it wont get all wet. Quote
STLBILL Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Hello: I locked myself out at a boat launch in September. In my case the back window was open so I snagged a little kid from the boat/family waiting to launch behind me. The little guy fit right through the back window and grabbed the driver's door handle to unlock the door. All you need to do is get a coat hanger inside and grapple the door release handle. Look at the bright side. At least your truck isn't sitting on a busy boat launch, boat in the water and engine running. -Bill Quote
jadaven Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 you can pop the back window upen with a screw driver. Quote

Nightrider Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 This trick will blow your minds and will do no damage to your locks what so ever........... Take a long small diameter screwdriver or piece of rod(about 1/4 -5/16 diameter and 8 inchs long.Lift up the door handle just enough to slide the rod thru the hole of the handle closest to the locking knob.Once you get it about 3 inchs in there wiggle it from side to side, you will be able to see the door lock knob banging around in its hole.If you put some pressure on the side of it,you will be able to grip the locking rod.now all you have to do is push down the back of the tool or rod (teeter)and you will force the locking pin up.just keep some side pressure as you pushing down.Remember you don't want to pull the handle up to high to do this,or it will never fully unlock.I can get in any 87-99 ranger 85-93 mustang 84-88 t-bird 85-92 escort in less than 5 seconds.I've owned all of these vehicles at one point and own a 99 ranger now. The easiest part about it is once the tool makes contact with the locking rod,you can see exactly what your doing by watching the door lock knob.you don't want to put too much side pressure on the locking rod, just enough to get a bite on it.Like i said 5 seconds and it won't take you long to learn how. I always show unaware ownwer that "trick"just to see the look on there face.VULNERABILITY Quote
