93blueoval Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 ok, my friend was running through the gears in his banshee. all of the sudden it just locked up, he tried to start it, and the kick starter was locked up. we pulled of the clutch cover, and the kick startr is fine, but in neutral we cannot move the clutch assembly at all. we tried with the clutch in and out. It is an almost new motor, but old tranny, is the tranny fried or what? Quote
93blueoval Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 (edited) update, we pulled the plugs and one was completely destroyed. the other one was fine but not even and tight. here is a pic http://www.andrewhodel.com/index.php?page=...age&id_src=5757 the pic doesnt do much justice to it, but the electrode is gone, and the ceramic piece inside the threads is gone. i guess this is why it locked up. anyone ever see this before?? FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 sounds like you ran lean and melted the topend...when you rebuild it make sure your crank is stiil good and also replace the crank seals. good luck Quote
