Machzzzz1 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Hi guys. My posts are few and far between on this fourm but I was hoping someone one here could help me build a really fast, reliable, trail banshee. When I first got the bike brand new in 2003 the damm air filter fell off and the motor sucked in a ton of dirt and sand and screwed the motor up. I rebuilt the top end got 21cc domes and a aftermarket head, PSI pipes, Dynoport carb kit, Put on a 14 or 15 tooth front sprocket (cant remember) and disconnected the torrs system. THe bike ran great in the beginning running and somtimes beating DS650s and it had a fun factor unlike anyother bike. Unfortunatly there must have been some left over dirt in the case becasue the crank, rods, and top end compression wore out and now performance is lackluster. It still starts and runs good but the power that it once possesed isnt there anymore. What im going to do it pull the motor and rebuilt the bike from the ground up using all new component except for my current head and domes. I was hoping someone on this site has experiance building banshees and could tell me what mods to buy and what mods make the most diffrence in making power. I dont want an all out racer but I do want something that wont lose to any stock bike. First off what parts do I need to buy and what do I need to do to the motor. What crank works the best, Pipes, carbs, please give me a set up that will give this bike a sence of style and make it wicked fast. Thanks... Quote
Brian060 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 yo kw, is that how you respond to all members with less poasts than you when they need help? Yo mach z, i just got a shee and dont know much, but from reading the fourms i hear a simple woods port will do wonders for you Quote

H250RHATER Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 eric gorr woods port. best bang for the buck at 200 bucks.. www.eric-gorr.com 316562[/snapback] what he said and a dyno port 2into 1 pipe is supposed to be wicked for the trails (all the bottom end to throw the bike around with )also get some 28mm flatslide carbs and a -2swinger as said previously ull be set for the trails there will be no stockk bike touching you o ya watch out for those trees Quote
fixitrod Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 pt mids a good port job 28mm to 30mm carbs -2 swingarm as much compression as you can afford fuel wise steering damper for the rocks and ruts shocks for the rough stuff (if you can go fast because it's rough it's not worth having the power) A good proflow foam filter setup A good set of tires a good clutch if yours is worn or stiffer springs some good steel front brake lines to help the stock brake fade. If you don't think you have fade try to stop with just the fronts real fast in the street... advace the timing 4 to 5 degrees stroker crank and port and 34 to 35mm carbs if you can afford it but not needed for a woods trail bike Lightened flywheel ( great acceleration and you can run right into a corner without the motor pushing you through) A good chain slider while you have it apart That's all I can think of right now Quote
ellison445 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 I would run this setup with a set of v-FORCE 2 reeds!! pt midsa good port job 28mm to 30mm carbs -2 swingarm as much compression as you can afford fuel wise steering damper for the rocks and ruts shocks for the rough stuff (if you can go fast because it's rough it's not worth having the power) A good proflow foam filter setup A good set of tires a good clutch if yours is worn or stiffer springs some good steel front brake lines to help the stock brake fade. Machzzzz1 Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 Thanks guys it does help. I think what im going to do after reading all this is. 1. Get a crank (What kind?) 2. Get the motor ported and pistons and cylinders coated. 3. Advance timing 5 deg 4. Toomey T6s 5. Better swing arm and A arms. 6. V force reeds. 7. And I will look for the flatslide carbs. What do you guys think that will do for me compaired to stock? Quote
