  1. Thanks guys it does help. I think what im going to do after reading all this is. 1. Get a crank (What kind?) 2. Get the motor ported and pistons and cylinders coated. 3. Advance timing 5 deg 4. Toomey T6s 5. Better swing arm and A arms. 6. V force reeds. 7. And I will look for the flatslide carbs. What do you guys think that will do for me compaired to stock?
  2. Hi guys. My posts are few and far between on this fourm but I was hoping someone one here could help me build a really fast, reliable, trail banshee. When I first got the bike brand new in 2003 the damm air filter fell off and the motor sucked in a ton of dirt and sand and screwed the motor up. I rebuilt the top end got 21cc domes and a aftermarket head, PSI pipes, Dynoport carb kit, Put on a 14 or 15 tooth front sprocket (cant remember) and disconnected the torrs system. THe bike ran great in the beginning running and somtimes beating DS650s and it had a fun factor unlike anyother bike. Unfortunatly there must have been some left over dirt in the case becasue the crank, rods, and top end compression wore out and now performance is lackluster. It still starts and runs good but the power that it once possesed isnt there anymore. What im going to do it pull the motor and rebuilt the bike from the ground up using all new component except for my current head and domes. I was hoping someone on this site has experiance building banshees and could tell me what mods to buy and what mods make the most diffrence in making power. I dont want an all out racer but I do want something that wont lose to any stock bike. First off what parts do I need to buy and what do I need to do to the motor. What crank works the best, Pipes, carbs, please give me a set up that will give this bike a sence of style and make it wicked fast. Thanks...
  3. Hey guys thanks alot. First off. I dont think its an air leak or dirty carbs. I built this motor from the ground up and I know about the symptoms a pluged carb would make. Thats why im asking for help. I cant figure it out. LOL I think the 30 pilots will help the unstable idle. There in the mail. But the dieseling is what I cant figure out. This engine never had a bog passed Idle and it still doesnt just off Idle. I dont understand why it would never diesel and then start all of a sudden. Its almost like some ass tinkered with my needle clip or maybe somthing did plug the carbs. But im not going to take it apart till I get the parts. Thanks for your help and if you can think of anything else let me know.
  4. Hi Guys. THis is my first post on this awsome website. Unfortunatly its not one I wish I had to make. Ive got a 2003 Banshee with PSI pipes, K&N filter, 21cc domes and billit head, Boost bottle, boyceen reeds, and a dynoport carb jetting kit (the one that comes with the longer needle valve.) Heres the problem. When i look at the bike idle i only see exhaust smoke comming out of the one side of the bike, yet compression is the same in both and as far as I can tell the carbs are in perfect sync but im going to double check. So before I tear it all apart i want to hear what you guys have to say about the other problems. 1. It has a very unstable idle. It wont come down to idle all the time, it likes to keep reving out. I think i need a bigger pilot jet since im still running stock. Do you guys agree? 2. Just recently when you hit the powerband at idle the bike will just say in the powerband and even turning the key wont shut if off. Im guessing that the clip needs to be set richer because its running lean. 3. THe bike surges power its not smooth like a stock banshee is. Im guessing its all carburation problems. However the bike runs for the most part very well. But these are the few flaws i want to get fixed up. I hope someone on here can help whos gone thru the same thing. PS. This bike used to pull one bike lengh each shift on a DS650. Now ever since it started this reving out detonation, The DS650 will pull on me a little with each shift. My question is can running to lean, even though the bike feels fast and high reving, make less power in certain situations. I dont care about beating the DS650, I just want this bike to perform the best it can in its layout. Thanks a lot. Martin.
