Wallrat Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Ya there's quite a few variables to consider. Size of the part, color, whether or not they need to do the prep...Best way to find out is to call a few different places and explain what you want done. Quote
NugShee Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I cant help you with costs as a lot of PCers charge diferently and I have never had a bike frame done before but I can give you a few prices for things that I have checked up on. A Banshee frame and A Arms cost around $300. Sand blasting for frame and A Arms is $75 Powdercoating for 4 wheel hubs, axle bearing carier, Sprocket star and shock springs would be about $125. All PC prices included sand blasting and prep work. Hope this helps a little. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted February 1, 2005 Author Report Posted February 1, 2005 id sand the frame down myself to the bare metal myself to save the money.my paint is always chipping off so i want to get it powdercoated to look good and stay looking good Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 I have an answer... cheap ass wal mart 94cent spraypaint. Cheap, and if you get scratches or chips just spray another coat on that mofo. Gotta love it. Quote
NYUK Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 average price is 200 to 500 depending on steps or coats,i paid 150 for a 7 ft long drag frame gloss black and clear. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 the guy that does my shit charges 125 for a regular color frame and anywhere from 150 to 175 for the translucent colors. that includes sandblasting. the more shit i take to him the better deal i get. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Contact a powdercoater and maybe they will sponsor you. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 I took my frame down today, gettin it done misty blue metallic, the frame by itself was $250. With my a-arms, steering stem, spiindles, spindle brackets, all hubs. it costs me $425. Have any of you seen the new stuff they do with chrome? I saw that there was super fresh chrome pieces down at the pc shop, and i asked the guy what he does with chronme pieces. He said he puts candy colors over the chrome (bright translucent colors) and it makes the color look "brilliant", he ll be done with em around the time mines done so ill take some pics when i go down, it sounds like it would pretty cool to get that done to some of my -future- chrome. Cheers Quote
