I just bought a 2003 limited edition banshee, but he had old gas that was sitting for 4 months  So when i start it up the bike runs good except it won't idle, and when its been warmed up for 5-10 min. and you close the choke off it just dies, like its starving for fuel. And i also noticed that the right side exhaust wasn't pushing near as much exhaust as the left side.I'm thinking maybe the right carb is full of crap and is stuck?? hopefully 1 of u guys can help.

Thanks Jer

Check & make sure your choke tube connecting the carbs is still there & not cracked. And then, yes, clean the shit out of your carbs & see what that does for ya. May spray some carb cleaner around the intakes to make sure it's not suck'n air too.

As a minimum I would pull both the carbs off and clean em up really well with some carb cleaner. Either your pilot jet is plugged or your running lean. You need to check and see what size jets are in there regardless. He may have it jetted for summer which means running it now will make you lean.

well thanks alot guys, i put new gas in it and i'll attempt to pull the carbs,I may have to brin it in to a mechanic, the carbs look difficult to pull with that weird contraption at the top of the carbs, it has wires going into it  well i'll give it a try and reply with the story!

thanks again Jer :headbang:

Jer, just unscrew the carb tops, the slide and needle will pull right out of the carbs, and you can leave the TORS system w/wires coming out of it connected to the frame, not difficult. Also, I have read that gas loses approximately 1 octane pont per month as it ages. You definately don't want detonation to occur. :(

when you have stock carbs on a banshee your going to have troubles, buy a manual and jump in with both feet.

nothing can put a bigger smile on your face and piss you off at the same time like a banshee...unless your married.

Side note here, the fuel petcock has a strainer for 'on' and 'reserve'. My reserve strainer was full of crap and the bike would always howl and sputter on the way back for fueling up. I pulled out the petcock and cut the bastards off since I run an inline filter anyway! And another: GET RID OF THE TORS ASAP. You can do some seriously easy jetting changes without TORS. Twin K&Ns makes it even easier. Best money I have spent.
