Im ready to buy a set of pipes but Im struggling between CPI's and Rockets. Ive already had one set of CPI's and liked them alot but I would like to try something different.

My delima is that the rockets look huge in every pic that Ive seen which I think looks great but I have a feeling my legs wont agree. I would like to have some input from some of you guys who are running them on how big they really are.

What about installation??

Fit and finish??

your not going to be burning your legs unless your trying to have intercoarse with your gas tank, and yes there big but its not sticking out so bad that your getting hung up on stuff in the woods ! fitment could be a bit better from my experiance but the chrome is really spectacular ,it would make a harley biker jealous, and as far as performance if you like d the cpis your gonna like the rockets ,i prefer a shorter silencer and opted to cut 3" off the length and reriveted ,all in all, its a very nice kit for a good price ,for mid to top end i much pre fer rockets over the t5 kits ive ridden in the past

rockets pull hard on top ,very hard and high strung!! :headbang:

Go with the rockets.....Im about to buy a pair in the next couple of weeks!! CPI are good, but you already been there done that. Check with Minkia, the rockets killed CPI on the dyno and he has the numbers posted on his site. Plus you will get better customer service becuase he is a HQ memeber!! :headbang::headbang:

Also talk to Loco on here, He swears by these pipes!!!

rockets are tight. when i had my bike dynoed a few weeks ago my rockets pulled 3 more hp and 3 more ft lbs of torque than cpis did. there is a dyno sheet in the gen disc forum, do a search and you should be able to find it. this was on a 4mm engine. i cut 2.5" off my silencers and it looks and sounds better. the fit and finish is excellent. i also recommend buying them from "minkia38" here on the site. i would also recommend buying the billet pipe clamps from "duner" here on the site. they look much better than any cheap ass rubber clamps. any other questions hit me up...

thanks for the kind words guys!

I can take some pics of the Rockets from any angle if youd like.

check out www.rocketpipes.com

under gallery, there are like 30 pictures!

Yes, they are good pipes

No they are not "fugly"

Chrome is show chrome, I PAY $100 a set to get them chromed, I CHARGE customers $100 a set to ge them chromed. i DONT make a cent off of the chrome.

Chrome is 2nd to none

I have burned my legs once or twice - I wont lie!

takes a few rides to get used to, but youll love them

I don't think rockets stick out any more or are more likely to burn you as CPI. Just don't wear riding pants that might stick to the pipes the first time you ride with them! ;)

my only bitch about rockets was that they didnt come with any o rings that fit by the cylinders. i sold my other pipes so i couldnt use those. my stock ones i threw them as boat anchors long time ago. hard to find high temp o rings around here

went to a dealership bought 2 stock ring 14 bucks not too happy about that.

also i got a clamp from duner, nice piece , but i thought that there should have been something, yeah its a tight fit but it still leaked some oil thru it

other than that they are great pipes. :headbang:
