Banshee17Racing Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I've got T-5's now and plan on getting some type of trail/MX porting done sometime soon. But I keep reading that PCs are more of an all around pipe than T5s. But will the PCs respond to the porting as well as the Toomeys? Quote
ledofthezep Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Yepper. No complaints here. I switched to PC's from toomey on a mild port & I had no issues; hell I didn't even have to re-jet. I do like the PC's better than the toomeys for my style of riding, but there's nothing I can say bad about the toomeys either. You'll be fine. Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted January 21, 2005 Author Report Posted January 21, 2005 Is your mild port considered a dune port? How much top end did you lose switching pipes? For some reason I think I'd like the PCs on the track a little better than the t-5's. Quote

I'm trying to decide on wich pipes to get, I have ridden on T5's, T6's and Fatties but not PC's and it is one that I'm thinking about. Maybe list some of the differences between the ones I've listed if you have ridden any of them. Thanks a Bunch---------Josh Sorry for bargin in on your thread Banshee17Racing Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 No prob. Which pipes felt the best to you out of the three you tried? Quote
rocketboy Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 i do some port tinkering on bikes in my area. ive ported a she with toomeys and one with pc and id say with average port timing (mild) a pc has a better powerband than t5s ,the t5s come on quicker and punch harder but sign off to earl,y while pc actually seemed to rev farther and more linear topend pull. my.02 Quote
FadedDreams Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 I had Pro Circuits with the Dune port i have, and they worked great. They seemed to want to pull forever in the top, like Rocketboy said.I've never tried T5's,but the bottom end wasn't bad at all. This might make your decisions harder, but the Rockets are even better than the Pro Circuits. They were a big improvement over the PC's,bottom and top. frocashmoney24 Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 my banshee had mild mx porting with pc pipes, and the powerband came in early, and stayed on all the way till i let off the throttle. but i also had low end mods since those pipes are a mid -top pipe Quote
NMBANSHEE Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 (edited) No prob. Which pipes felt the best to you out of the three you tried? 310368[/snapback] All of three of these were rides on other peoples bikes, So who knows if they were jetted correctly, wich might have changed my impression of them. Well the T6 was a good improvement over stock but not what I expected, still a good smooth power band The Fatty was similar, but from what everyone says it has more potential with other mods The T5 was totally different, The thing had no bottom end but once it hit about 3 to 4 thousand RPM HOLD ON So I guess what I Keep hoping for is a pipe that has the bottom of the fmf with the mid top of the T5. I know its wishful thinking but one can wish can't he? By the way I live at 5300 ft in elevation so compression is a problem up here. Maybe some one can help me on this one. Does anyone think if I got T5's and bumped my compression up to 145 PSI (from 100 PSI due tue elevation) that the T5's would have equal to or more bottom than stock? Hope that helped, And thanks for the opinions---------Josh Edited January 24, 2005 by NMBANSHEE Quote
