KRMit Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Chapparel offers a couple nice combos with either the Ocelot SX2 or PDB boots. Rocky Mountain has several package deals with A.R.C. boots. They also have a new ATV sole which has cleats. Anyone have opinions on either? These will be my first boots. I know I don't want laces, but other than that I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks. Ducman Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Make sure that the boot has some flexability in the ankle up and down (not side to side though) or you wont be able to shift. Some people can get used to a stiff mx style boot made for a 2 wheel dirt bike, most cant, I hated a pair of Fox boots I bought so bad I gave them away. I bought a pair of Sidi street bike boots, so incredibly comfortable. Quote
limitied03 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Alpinestars Tech 8s baby all the way.... Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 i would recommend the new thor quadrant boots or the alpinestar tech 6 boots. i havent really heard anything good or bad about those others. Quote
limitied03 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 when buying boots i wouldnt go cheap....think about protecting your ankles...boots are cheaper than a broken ankle...dont have to buy the best but you get what you pay for Quote
iceman Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I have the A.R.C ones, they are actually pretty good, I havent worn any other boots though, so I dunno if I'm missing out, the pants are super comfortable. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 get a good boot you will be much happier. I got a set of ARCs when i was poor and they were horrible. I had the ATV sole and had to cut off two rows of lugs to give my foot enough room to move on the peg. My bro got a pair of tech 6s and I got a set very soon after wearing his.... Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 i have a set of arc's and there a good boot, but make sure you have a pretty big leg, i have a set for sale actually if your itnerested, bought them new about 6 months ago and wore them only a few times, but i sold my shee so its all going to, along with a whole brand new oneal outfit and a arc chest protector Quote
KRMit Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 No offense guys but which boots are the best isn't even in question. I need to decide between those two. I'm broke and I'm trying to get one of the package deals so those boots are my only real options. So the ATV soles suck? If I get ARC I need to stick with regular soles? Which are better, Ocelot or ARC? Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 after i cut the lugs off around the footpeg they wernt bad Quote
holeshotkid Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 I personally would not buy the ARC's. I had trouble with the buckles not holding and the ankle area is solid plastic. For an extra 10 bucks, I bought the Oneal Elements. Great boot for the money. You might look into those before making your final decision. Quote
SICK BOY Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 The quality in the ARC boots is much better then the Ocelot. Quote
KRMit Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 Well that's what I wanted to know. ARC it is. BTW, my shoe size is 12 and I wear XL shirt and 36" pants... just in case anyone is selling. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted January 22, 2005 Report Posted January 22, 2005 damn my pants are 34, you lookin to buy a chest protector? Quote
