2k4_Shee Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) Would i be better off just buying the toomey t5 pipes and silencers and buying the k&n adapter plate and running a k&n or buying the toomey t5 kit that comes with the toomey 2 into 1 filter, jets, etc...Just wondering if anyone chose one and then switched later bc they didnt like it... NMBANSHEE Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I'm not an expert but i think either would flow about the same except the adapter and air box will have a little better protection from water. Either way good buy though good luck----------Josh Quote
jumpcuts Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Neither, buy my two month old T6's...sweeeeeet, like the dude on the Hemi commercial says Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Go with the kit and get every thing at once. The kit I ordered come with every thing but filters and I ordered them right away because I could not get enough air. Quote
Wallrat Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 It kinda depends on what you ride. For really dusty conditions I like to use a foam filter. For sand I like the K&N's. If you ride in mud/water then keeping the airbox will help keep water out. The 2:1 isn't as bad with water as dual clamp on K&N's but still is fairly exposed. Quote
2k4_Shee Posted January 20, 2005 Author Report Posted January 20, 2005 I ride a little bit of everything, and try to avoid mud and water in most cases. I am still going to keep the stock air box regardless, maybe remove the lid or just modify a few vents in it...I was just looking at the toomey 2 into 1 setup and the filter looks tiny compared to the adapter plate and K&N filter.... . Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 toomey filter you'll lose the airbox, K&N unless your riding pavement or sand I'd keep away......go with a foam.....it flows almost exactly the same and much better protection Quote

NMBANSHEE Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 so what ur sayin is with the toomey filter i have to ditch my airbox... 309623[/snapback] I think what they mean is keep the air box and get the PRO DESIGN/UNI FILTER SETUP, Rocky mountain has them for $89.99 P/N=49-551. Then get the T-5 pipe set Rocky Mountain has them also. unfinished #0900-001-------$359.99 chrome #0900-002-------$479.99 Later----Josh Quote

banshee tuner Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 If you want to keep the airbox go with that power lid setup. I run k&n pods and the only time I did not like them was when I rode this one place with a lot of water. Quote
