jeepman380 Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Does anyone know where I can get plans or any information on how to make a Banshee drag frame from scratch or how to make one from a stock frame? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Quote

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks 295355[/snapback] What I hope to start next month is a somewhat drag/dune bike. When I lighten the frame I plan on just sectioning a stock frame with chromoly. I don't know what wall thickness yet, as 1" only comes in certain sizes. Either way it will be light. Not too sure what areas I'll be replacing with chromoly, but it will be more than 75% if I can pull it off. Quote
loganskinner Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 damn CEJ. sounds like you got quite a bit of work ahead of you. that takes some serious skill to be doing shit like that to a frame. Quote
jinx44 Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 I lightened my stock J-arm frame to around 31lbs. Nothing was added, just tubes, mounts, and some bracing removed. Of course it is still stock wheelbase also. I think it is still very strong. Here is a link to a few pics of it: www.gsgw.net/Jinx.htm Its the blue mettalic frame, not the same frame as the medium blue frame that has the red plastics on it. Quote

I'm sure I'll be beating my head against a wall sooner or later. Quote

Those are just a fancy drag bar. I have them and the usual single bend drag bars on my site. Quote

jeepman380 Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 The reason i'm asking ya'll this is cause i'm going to Wyotech and after Christmas break coming up i'm gonna be starting a chassis fabrication class so i'll be working on some sort of project and I wanted to do this to try it out and see how it turns out. After all my training i'll have to skills needed to make this and all the tools to do it also. I'm also interested in making some a-arms and a swingarm for this drag banshee and some +2 or +3 a-arms and a +4 swingarm for my duner banshee. Quote
