XtremeYFZ450 Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I was in Dumont this weekend and let my buddy ride my shee and the engine just stoped. I could start it and it would idle for a bit then die but the sound it made was like something locked up (thunk sound). It still starts eveytime I kick it over but for only a few seconds before it stops again. I checked the oil and it has some metal flakes in it so obviously something is broken. I have never worked on 2 strokes before and was wondering if it's possible to have spun a main bearing? Just wondering if anyone has experience this what it could be and If Im going to have to rebuild the bottom end what mods / upgrades would you do. Any help would be appreciated..... Quote

Timmy301 Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 could be a broken gear "c"-clip may have came apart and spun through some gears you will never know untill you take it apart Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 check the compression before taking it apart Quote
