01bansheeke Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I am looking for a fresh..or minimally bored/unported set of cylinders. When i find a set for the right price, i am going to send them off to get them ported. I have seen a few names thrown around..patriot..a&s..passion..woods..FAST racing(who i am leaning towards simply because they are fairly local and his shit straight hauls ass) I know everyone is going to have there own opinions on who's port work is the best..but i want some comparisons..customer service(who took care of there customers)..etc. I want to know why you think that your port is the best. Mainly looking for people with a dune port. I have a drag port right now. I ride a lot of wide open and some drag racing. not too worried about trails. thanks in advance to all who reply Quote
sredish Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Screw it, take a cutting torch and start peeling away the intake and exhaust ports till they look big enough. That oughta get you one helluva dune port... Quote
01bansheeke Posted November 18, 2004 Author Report Posted November 18, 2004 man..thats sounds like a good idea..i got the plasma cutter right here lol Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 eric gorr. his woods port is fuckin tight. www.eric-gorr.com and i bet you wont find a better port job for 250 bucks. Quote
Mod Banshee Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I would talk to Jim at Passion Racing. I have the Passion 12 Port Stroker kit and he guarentees it will do 100+ MPH Quote
Ducman Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Like you said, I would probably lean towards having it done locally if you have someone with a good reputation and proven results. I had a somewhat negative experience with sending my stuff out, but I got a very good deal on labor and all the parts and engine work/machining that was done. I know passionre has a good reputation for customer service. I think most good builders can give you the type of port work you are looking for. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 While your at it put a +4 crank in there. Quote
01bansheeke Posted November 18, 2004 Author Report Posted November 18, 2004 i may have something along those lines in the works still in the air. i need a crank first. Quote
davidj5491 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 "I have the Passion 12 Port Stroker kit and he guarentees it will do 100+ MPH " The porting alone will not get you to 100+ mph. But it will give you the power necessary to pull a higher gearing, which will mean more mph. Quote
bansheefreak Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 i have a set of cyls that are ported might be what you want!!! one needs a sleve thou but that cheaper then a port job... Quote
