i recently bought a 98 banshee then it blew up on me after 3 tanks of gas

so i have a little down time to check out what i had in the motor. since i bought it used i really didn't know

mods are in the sig but i'm running a 370 main jet doesn't that seem large?

It could be, but it might not be.. What did your plugs tell you? I wouldnt think it would blow up because of a 370 main. If it was too big I would think that you would have been fouling plugs. Not blowin shit up.

it blew up because of an air leak not really jetting. it just seemed kinda large

the plugs are black but i posted some pics up of them a while back and the picture made them look very lean but they weren't

I don't think that is too big. 370 mains is what I run and I know I don't have an airleak.

No, I am not ported.

I have been asked that before and people can't believe I run such big mains.

I have been running like this for 3 seasons.

I am fat on the top end, like I can't pull a real crisp 6th gear, but I don't care. I would rather be a little fat on the top end then burn up my motor.

Understood. I was also way way richer on my main than pretty much everyone with a similar setup. Interesting to see where I end up after I get my cylinders back from the porter.

More air velocity means more fuel vacuum, so I'm curious to see how much I actually need to go up. :shrugani:

seems alittle fat to me, every engine is different though it will tell you what it wants.

were your needles on the top clip?

370's are probably fine as long as it is running OK. I run 390s with the modifications listed below. They are a lot larger than most other banshees with similar modifications, but they are right for my quad.

Werent you almost on the last jet size anyway?

Blue, I was. Then I went to a richer needle and it gave me a lot more fuel in the 3/4 to WOT area, and I was able to back my main off 6 or 7 sizes, from a 220 to a 200, plus it hits a lot harder now, seems to be getting the fuel it needs.
