thebloker Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Does anybody have a GPS location of the sand drags at Glamis? I was going through my GPS and updating important locations that I might want to check out this season becuase I either forgot to punch them in last year, or i didn't have a chance to get to them. Well, it just so happens that the sand drags didn't make it on there and I am having trouble finding a location for them on the net. Any help would be apprecieated, thebloker Quote
Wallrat Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Um...you can get a GPS coord. for the restrooms at Gecko. Basically they're about 200 yards from there. I'll grab em for ya this weekend tho if i remember to bring my gps to the drags. Quote
thebloker Posted October 30, 2004 Author Report Posted October 30, 2004 Right on, thanks for the info guys, I just like to have everything punched into the GPS before I leave. It's not like I have a month or so to get all of this data into my GPS Quote

philshee Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 I just noticed the date of the original post, ignore the GPS cord. since the request is 3 weeks old, I'll pay more attention next time. Quote
thebloker Posted November 24, 2004 Author Report Posted November 24, 2004 thanks for the info, I've already got it programmed into my GPS. I'll make sure to actually make it out there this time, there is a lot of stuff to see in Glamis. Be on the lookout for those long travel rails cartwheeling into the croud. Quote
Ultimateduner Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Do you really need a GPS to find the drags????????!!!! Quote
thebloker Posted November 30, 2004 Author Report Posted November 30, 2004 Well, seeing as nobody has specifically said a location of where they are, I camp in the washes so I don't ever make it past Olds, and there are 2 sand drag locations, then yes, I might need some help finding them. Anything else useful that you want to add to this thread????????!!!! Quote
Wallrat Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Just set a waypoint for the Gecko/78 intersection. If you're there on a busy weekend then you should be able to see the drags about 2 miles before you get there if coming through the dunes. If your taking sand highway then just hang a left at Gecko and ride about 1/4 mile down...can't miss it. Starts at 3pm every busy day and lasts till around sunset. Quote

Also the best place to camp, without noise or dust is road runner. ( Just follow Gecko road to the very end .) Quote
