My buddy recently purchased a 95 Banshee with the trinity carb kit. I am trying to help him out in the jetting end of it. does anyone here in michigan have one and if so what are your settings: main,needle etc. it is a stock motor with open prodesign air filter. it seems to be cutting out on top end. aslo what fuel mixture would you suggest. the guy that he bought it from ran 28:1 which seemed rich. i think right now his carb settings are like a 205 or 210 main . but i am not to sure of the needle and pilot. Just looking for a good starting place. all ideas would be great.. thanks dudes happy trailing :headbang: also what if any would i run in the winter?

205 or so is quite rich on the main jet. Is it a 33m or a 35mm pwk? Also, the richest premix I'd run is a 32:1. Switch to that.

 

As far as jetting. Have you checked your plugs at all? It's hard to tell exactly because I don't know your area. Around here, with pipes and such, they're running around a 180, with porting possibly 195 or 200. Now my bike's different and we won't get into that right now. I'd suggest going out and running one more run and check the plugs to verify that your rich.

 

When you confirm, by your plugs, that your rich, I'd say around 175 or 178 might be a good place to start. 48 pilot probably and needle in the 3rd clip. That's about "normal" and remember not all banshees are alike, that's why I'm not telling you to just switch straight over. If I did that to mine, I'd be lean as hell, but most will be in that area with your mods. So check the plugs and then move down and try it again.

Im in northern Mn and I have a 180 main and a 42 pilot ,jet clip in the middle (3rd).....Im not 100% sure on the pilot, because I havent had the carb off on 3 years....(havent had a reason to)

 

It runs a little rich when its around 70-80 degrees outside, but thats when Im racing anyway, so I dont get on her much then.... :(

I have 215 but need to go either 220-225 with a 35 and porting 52 pilot 2 turns out and a dek needle which is lean so I am going to a eek needle. Trinity has some specs on their web site but with these 2-1 carbs they are all very different to jet. Put a big main jet in there and see if it bogs and check your NEW plugs gaped around 18-22. Try the biggest main you have and put the needle clip on the bottom and see how it runs. If it bogs then lower the needle and main one step at a time.

I believe the plugs should be gapped .028-.032, I'd check with the dealer
