I just got some new jugs off ebay, and the listing didn't say anything about them being ported. I got them and checked them over, seem to be pretty good but I'm not too sure of the port job done on them. Looks like someone took their dremel to them. Check out the pic and let me know what you all think. $100 for both of them, found them listed under lawn mower parts, and the guy just didn't know what they were. lol. They appear to be bored about 60 over. I got a deal.

Where do you all recommend sending them to get fixed? They aren't dirty, the black stuff is just the original black finish that is still inside. The other one looks pretty much the same way. How much is a decent port job?

As far as getting them fixed my choice would be MP Racing out of Oregon. However, I've never used anyone for such work and have always done it myself. Steve from MP Racing is a good guy and I'm sure would give you a screamin deal.

hmm i dont know that looks pretty fucked up to me. do you have a local builder who can scope them out for you and let you know if they are even worth trying to port out better.

That port job looks pretty cobby. :o You could even that up yourself, but more important is how much was the exhaust raised. My stock set of jugs measure 30mm from top of deck to top of exhaust port. The exhaust should be widdend befor it is opened upwards. If it hasn't been opened up past 28mm you should still be good. Also don't narrow that center bridge any more. Hard on rings.

The exhaust port wasn't touched. What tool would you use for evening them up? I would probably prefer to have a professional do it. Can some of you post pics of your intake ports so I can get an idea of where I want to go with these.
