bansheeigo Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 I want to get new rear tires that hook up at a start of a drag race,i was looking into those Kenda Klaws the 20-11-9 size they look like they can hook up pretty good. Is there another tire that might be better out there? Thants for your help. Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 I run Razrs on both my shees and like them. They hook up well in everything. Also I really like the look of your shee. Are those stock plastics that are cut and painted? Looks real nice. Quote
KRMit Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 My Razrs are about 50% tread but they've never really hooked up well in loose stuff. They grip excellent in hard-pack though. I've heard the Ohtsu (sp?) 400ex stock tires are best. That's what all my buddies run. I've never tried them though. I know they get me off the start in EVERY drag race. Quote
bansheeigo Posted October 22, 2004 Author Report Posted October 22, 2004 TOOMEY BANSHEE,Yes they are stock plastic, its a 97 banshee so the front and back came with the bike. The tank and radiator were red so i bought a 2000 yr. tank and radiator black plastic. Quote
bansheewizard Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 yea what that guy said about 400es tires i have stock 250r tires off a 86 and my friends have holeshot and in loose dirt ill jump them bout 2 quads out off the hole and they say its cuz my gear is lower and my gears at 15 /40 and there ar 14 /41 so it must be the tires Quote
stclark04 Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 If drag racing if the only thing you want them for, go with the Kenda Klaws and cut out every other row. Thats what i use for hillclimbs. They hook up so well in the loose, its nuts. I was running around a half second faster when I put them on. Quote
bansheeigo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 LOCOGATO how about useing those tires(klaws) for trail riding, are they ok?How did you shave those nobbies off? Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 i wouldnt use them for anything other than dirt dragging or at a hillclimb. they need more lugsfor trails. i used a sawzall to cut them off. Quote
