I have to rebuild my both my top end and clean out shards of pistion from my bottom end. I was wondering how hard is it to clean out my bottom end. And any info on how to do it would be great. I have a yamaha service manual

Get yourself a Clymers manual and a set of basic tools and go for it. It really isn't that hard. Just bag everything up and label it when you take it apart.

not hard at all, good trick is take piece of cardboard and punch holes in it to match the bolt paterns of the case and put your bolts in it as you take them out, works great on my four strokes with 9 million bolts in them!!

dont split the cases to get that shit out. use a pressure washer. thats what we did with my bros engine after his pistons fell apart. it worked fine and never locked up after that. rebuilding is easy as long as you have a common knowledge of a few tools and how to take shit apart. keep us posted, we can help you get thru it.

What do you plan on doing about re-honing, and boring your cylinders, due to the scrapes on the walls frm the scrapnel flying around. If you don't bore you have to atleast re-hone to seat the new rings.

Also, if you are going to take it apart to clean the junk out of the crank, you will need one special tool. You will need a flywheel puller. Do not try to pry the flywheel off without a flywheel puller, or you will ruin it.
