  1. What years harness does the Dyna cdi fit?
  2. Looking for a good Dyna ignition and an aftermarket coil. The Coil could be DYNA, MSD, or Nology. The Dyna needs to plug into an 87 wire harness.
  3. What stator is it? stock or aftrermarket and if aftermarket, what wattage? What CDI is it? Stock, Dyna, Ricky, PVL? What coil is it? Stock, MSD, DYNA, Nology? What year bike is it off of? This will make a difference on the wiring on the CDI.
  4. Does anyone have a good used Dyna CDI to fit an 87 Shee they want to sell at a reasonable price. I am also looking for a good coil, either MSD, Nology, or Dyna. Let me know what you have and what you want. Thanks
  5. Thank you for the quick reply Tammy. I just made a deal with NYUK though.
  6. My wife's banshee welded the ball to the rod, and when it did, it also took out the clutch arm. I already have the rod in my box of parts, and have purchased a pancake bearing for it. Now I just need a replacement for the clutch arm ( It is the piece that connects to the clutch cable, runs verticle through the case, and pushes on the clutch rod). If anyone has a good one laying around, let me know how much you want for it shipped to 91724 zip (So Cal). Thanks.
  7. I have a Trinity 2-1 carb set up which currently has a PJ34 on it. The PJ will no longer stop the flow of fuel when even after the valve was replaced, so I figured it was tome to replace it. I found a good buy on a PWK 36. Can you guys give me a little help on what jets to put in it to start with? The old PJ was jetted with 175 main and DEL needle with the clip in the middle. The bike is set up as follows: 80 over Wiseco pistons stock stroke and stock rod length FMF Fatty pipes Stage 3 Trinity porting Shaved stock head 155# compression V Force 2 reeds Timing +4 Stock ignition and coil PWK 36 with clamp on K & N to a trinity 2 into 1 manifold Thanks in advance for the help
  8. Refund received 4/11/08 via Paypal. Actually refunded $5.00 more than I originally sent to cover Paypal fees.

  10. Minkia38; Thanks for the offer to help with Paypal, but the deal is Paypal will only allow you to get your money back by filing a dispute withing 45 days of the original payment. Being that I waited two months, when I contacted Paypal, they said that It has been too long. WinchedWolvy; If you want to send me a refund, fine, I don't see where you even need to ask me, you already have my email address to send me Paypal as that was how I paid you originally. If you want you name redeemed, I have two words for you "tracking number". Since you forgot to mail the coil the first month, that would mean that if you did mail it at all, the tracking number should still be available with the shipper, being that most keep them for about 45 days. Do you have a tracking number you can supply to prove that you shipped it to my address? I am not out to burn anyones name, just supply the feedback that is deserved and warn others when things do not go as they are supposed to. If you supply an active tracking number for a packages shipped to my address, I will state in this post that you have done so, and the shipping company is to blame. If you supply a refund, I will post that in this forum as well. As it stands right now, the facts are very simple, 2 months and I have not received the coil, I was never given a tracking number, I was never given a refund, and I was called names for having posted about the experience (on a post in the bad seller feedback forum).
  11. 2 months of waiting, and I am the "dipshit" and "dick". I guess I can see someone calling me Dick as my name is Richard, but "dipshit" is not appropriate in my book. 12. WinchedWolvy advertised an MSD Banshee coil for $30 on this board. I sent him paypal for it on 1/23/2008. After about a month and no coil. I emailed him and he replied "On Mar 2, 2008, at 12:05 AM, Steve wrote: tell you the truth i forgot all about it,i will do asap," I still have not recieved the coil as of 3/27/2008. At this point, I do not expect to ever see my coil or my $30, but wanted to warn everyone else about doing business with WinchedWolvy on Banshee HQ. Also note the email address he uses is [email protected] & [email protected] and according to Paypal his name is Steve Patredis. According to White pages.com his address is: Steven M Patredis 505 Prince Charles Dr O Fallon, MO 63366-1707 According to his HQ profile he was born Born Nov-11-1975, so he is in his 30s

  15. Like already stated, do a compression check. When doing the compression check, make sure to hold the throttle wide open while kicking fast several times to get a true reading, but with the ignition off to make sure the other cylinder does not start. The number my group uses for pump fuel is anything under 160 PSI. As for timing, an adjustable timing plate set to + 4 is safe for pump fuel and will give you another pony or two. Beyond + 4, and you may have issues with detonation requiring race fuel. Also, if you are going to do a timing change, make sure you ar not using anything else that changes the timing, such as a dyna ignition or an offset flywheel key (degree key). If you want to change your timing and are on a tight budget, you can whip out the dremel and modify the mounting screw holes on the stock timing plate to get about + 3 or + 4 out of it.
  16. Go +4 on the timing plate as long as you dont have anything else changing your timing, such as a degree key or a dyna ignition.
  17. Parting it out is what I would have bought it for if it was local. The cost to ship from NY to CA is just way too much for a bike like this though. Good luck with it.
  18. 1988 Yamaha Banshee 350 twin parts machine Buy it now for 275, and appers to have works shocks and nerfs. NY is too far away for me, I hope this helps someone else on this board. I have no vested interest in this ebay auction, It is just a great deal I spotted that I thought could make someone here happy. Item number: 230079445380 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-Yamaha...079445380QQrdZ1
  19. I don't know specifcly about the Turbine cores, but with Trinity silencers that have a removeable spark arrestor insert, they can really choked down a motor. The screens had most of the holes filled with carbon, so only a few of the holes were open to let the exaust out. You might want to see if the Turbine cores can be taken apart easily to clean the screens.
  20. I cannot comment on the Cubs, but the full Cheetahs I think would be OK to use in the woods and trails. A friend of mine just bought a bike set up with the Cheetahs, stock stroke with only a clean up port job, 35mm carbs and Trinity pipes, and that bike has a very managable and smooth powerband. The bike is pretty fast, but not as fun as some of the other bikes in the group because the powerband is so smooth. I would say that the power delivery of this bike is quite a bit more controlable than the ported 4 mill strokers we have in the group, but still just as fast. Only problems I see with the setup is that the cost is too steep for this setup, and I like the feel of the hard hit that you get with a more ported setup. Now if this motor had a proper port job on a 4 mill crank, It would be one hell of a fun ride, but probably too much for trail riding then. Anyone know how much it would cost to have a set of Cheetahs reported and replated? I think he may be wanting to cut the Cheetahs with a more dune agressive port job with a 4 mill crank.
  21. I live in Covina, and ride almost exclusivly at Glamis. I would like to learn more about some of the closer riding areas though.
  22. Feeding a Banshee is really feeding 2 175s rather than 1 350. The cylinders are running oposite each other as far as timing goes, so you only have 1 cylinder taking fuel at any given time. With a 2 into 1 carb set up, the flow of air is more consistant as air is always moving through it, just changing from left to right cylinders, while each carb on a duel carb set up is constantly having the air flow interupted as the phase of the cylinder changes. The result is that a 2-1 setup will give much better throttle response in the lower to mid rpm ranges. The top end power is about equal to the stock carbs, but not as good as large duels. In my opinion, the 2-1 makes for a much more ridable Banshee with an improve power delivery. If you are looking for all out top horse power for drag racing, this is not your set up though. Bottom line is, if you ride you quad on trails or through the dunes, a 2-1 is a good upgrade. If you do mostly drag racing and little other riding, then big duels are better.
  23. V force are supposed to be the best, but they do cost about $230 new. Ported stock cages with TDR reeds are the next best and cost less. I talled with Tony Doukas on he phone once and he told me that the V-force will outperform his reeds on ported cages. If you are looking for a cheaper option, I would do some searching for how to port your stock cages yourself, and place TDR reeds on them. When you order the reeds, ask for the ones without the center split. That is what I used to run, and they worked well for me.
