has anyone ever figured out why some shees have one pipe that smokes more than the other??? I know this is fairly common but WHY??? my old shee never did it and my new one has always done it. I have even had the entire motor done (top to bottom) and it still does it. both carbs are in perfect sinc. both cylinders have exactly 140lbs compression... anyone know why this happens??? :shrugani::confused:

Just a guess, Maybe the one that smokes alittle more has a tighter seal than the other.

On mine, the clamp that pinches the header to the pipe (1ea.) sometimes works itself loose and makes a mess.

HUMMMM well if its fairly common im not gunna worry about it... :bolt:

Three things wrong with the rear end of a banshee in motion.

1. Flappy ass fenders

2. One side smokes more

3. Uneven exhaust It's so fricken annoying one side sticks up level with the grabbar and the other is straight out.

o yea i just got back from florida...its a mess down there

I think it's probably caused by casting flaws in the cylinders. My banshee used to smoke more out of the left pipe, but since the port work, it has stopped.

mine did it before the port work and it still does it. I have matched cases and a good cleanup port and im still gettin it. but im not worried as long as others have the problem too and im not gunna loose a motor over it or anything...

my silencers are very much level. im not sure if they were when it was stock. I dont remember but it is level as can be now... I do have floppy fenders (especially when im doing a brake stand) and I do smoke more out of one side...

when i start mine up it smokes more out of one side than the other. after it gets running it smokes more out of the opposite pipe than than before. then once the engine gets hot he will smoke out of what ever one he wants too. i dont ask questions i just let him smoke the way he wants to. cuz when i think about, i wouldnt want to be told how to smoke. ;)

but i still havent done a leakdown test yet. im gonna do one just to make sure that everything ok. i dont wanna see him start to smoke too much and become a burn out, ya know. ;)

i didnt know it was soo common. now i feel better that im not the only one. :)

wont a bad crank seal leak out just the one side (pretty sure it dose),

ok so say you put your motor together with some ones chitty aftermarket seal, or you bugger it up on I think theres a key that it slides over or you got some sand on it, what ever happened,

Even thou its new that dont meen chit, on cars for sure I know that as fact.

I seen so many aftermarket crank & cam seals fail on import cars. I absoloutly refuse to use any thing but a manufactures seal on the crank or cam of the cars I work on its cost me lots of free work in the past.
