I have a '92 banshee with stock air box with (6) 1" filters, K&N hard filter, boyseen reeds, polished intakes & exhausts, boost bottle and it's all on a fresh stock bore. I ride at around 3200-3600 elevation. Can someone either point me in the direction of a good jetting chart or help me finger this out? Thanks for your responses :notworthy: , I know this is an all too common question.

:shrugani: I know this sounds dumb but I'm not sure what pipes i have. They are FMF, but they don't have any curves or markings like the fattys and they have a smaller diameter. The bike i got them off of was one of the champion desert racer banshees and judging by how they are smaller than the fatty I would guess they are more of a mid range pipe. Edited by AZ DESERT RACER

Have you read Benb's jetting Faq? Go to www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html That will tell you everything about jetting you will need. Copy it to paper so you can take it right out to the banshee while you are jetting.

That carb basics and jetting page is a good one, I already have it printed out and read through it now and then. I guess my real question is how to tell the size jetting I should start at. I got a couple stock carbs from someone and I know they are jetted way too lean for my bike. I am just wondering how many jet sizes to go up for my mods-K&N hard filter, (6) 1" air filters in my air box, boost bottle, polished intakes and exhausts. Thaks again all.

#27.5 or 30 pilot, and a #300 main if you have the air box lid on, 320 with lid off. This is just an approximate starting point. Read the section in BenBs jetting FAQ about doing a "Plug Chop" and reading your plugs to get it fully dialed in. I find that you can run a stock banshee pretty rich on the main and it will still run fine, maybe down 1 or 2 HP but pulls good and your motor is safe. Going too lean on the mains leads to overheating and if you ignore the signs of running really lean and crappy and keep riding it hard... Captain! If it gets any hotter she's going to blow!
