It's good to know where people are through out the state. If I ever head up there for a ride I'll hit you up. Also if you ever come south, email me and maybe we can get together.
-
Thanks but someone offered me a pair for $300 shipped in mint condition.

Parting out 1996 Banshee

I've been emailing you for the shipping info on the seat and haven't gotten any responses. How are you shipping it- post office or fed ex, and whats the tracking number? -
I like that rose bud tip/compresed air idea. Another idea is weld or braise a rod onto the dent then get the area red hot and pull the dent out by pulling on the rod, just don't stab yourself incase the rod breaks. I've done it to headers on a camero before and thats alot thicker metal.

My opiion is STAY AWAY FROM PLASTIC REAR SPACERS. I had a set on my stock axel to match my extended a-arms, and I shattered them. Not only was I out $80 but they also chewed out my lug holes and almost cost me a set of rims. Luckily I was able to fix the wheels by drilling new holes. If you get rear spacers, try the aluminum ones.

Damn it, I forgot the W I'm looking for a set of Toomey T-5 or T-6 pipes. As long as the price is right I don't mind if they are chrome or not. I know I can get them new and chrome for $450 & $580.

Do the wheel bearings include the seals and are they for both sides or only one? Also is $20 a good enough offer for the clutch cover?
-
I would have had an engine to trade if the guy on ebay hadn't ripped me off. How muchare you asking for the pipes? Thanks, [email protected]

MRMOONEY and RESCUEJEFF, I just bought a cdi off tats so I'm going to try this out and see if it works. If it doesn't, I'll contact you and give an offer. I want to buy eveything just to have the extra parts, but I'm a little strapped for cash lately.
-
DUCMAN- thanks for the info . The dealer is saying to start at apx 260 and go up from there so I ended up getting everything in between 260 and 300. Can't wait to fix this damn no spark problem, and move on to jetting .

So how can I pay you and when can you ship it? I just finished rebuilding my bike and not being able to ride is depressing. If your parting out your bike, do you have the stator and what would you want for both?
-
What type of plugs does it have. Mine is sorta round with two box type corners and two rounded corners.
-
That was a fast reply! What do you mean by the entire system? How did the bike run when everything was installed? I don't know if I'll have enough $$ for everything, would you be interested in selling only a few parts?
-
I'm looking for a cdi and possibly a stator for my banshee. My bike is a '92 but I heard that the plugs can be changed from model to model. If anyone can help you can post here or email me at [email protected]. Thanks

That carb basics and jetting page is a good one, I already have it printed out and read through it now and then. I guess my real question is how to tell the size jetting I should start at. I got a couple stock carbs from someone and I know they are jetted way too lean for my bike. I am just wondering how many jet sizes to go up for my mods-K&N hard filter, (6) 1" air filters in my air box, boost bottle, polished intakes and exhausts. Thaks again all.

pipe carbon build-up
AZ DESERT RACER replied to 2stroke_addict's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Never heard about the oven degrreaser idea, sounds like a good one. I had some bad rust and carbon build up and I just put some gravel of different sizes in the pipes and shook the hell out of them. I don't know if it got all the gunk out, but there was a big pile of crap when I emptied the rocks out. -
Every time I went to Rocky Point i used to spray my whole bike down with diesel fuel. It's cheap and it's easy to wash off.

I know acetone works for polishing. I polished my clutch cover but can't remember what type of scraper i used, maybe a soft wire brush or steel wool

HELP!Can't figure this out...
AZ DESERT RACER replied to racer714's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Have you made sure the vacume tube connecting both carbuerators together is attached? -
I know this sounds dumb but I'm not sure what pipes i have. They are FMF, but they don't have any curves or markings like the fattys and they have a smaller diameter. The bike i got them off of was one of the champion desert racer banshees and judging by how they are smaller than the fatty I would guess they are more of a mid range pipe.

Thanks, that is a helpful page. This site is so big I haven't had a chance to explore the whole thing yet.

I have a '92 banshee with stock air box with (6) 1" filters, K&N hard filter, boyseen reeds, polished intakes & exhausts, boost bottle and it's all on a fresh stock bore. I ride at around 3200-3600 elevation. Can someone either point me in the direction of a good jetting chart or help me finger this out? Thanks for your responses , I know this is an all too common question.

I had someone who seems very knowledgeble tell me he uses a 50/50 mix of trans. fluid and 10w-30, have you ever heard of this- good or bad?
-
One more question- what type of fluid should I soak the plates in? Will 10-30 or trans. fluid work or is it some special lubricant?
