German Shepherd Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I ride in the woods but I need mega power to get up those coal hills. I will post the link of the pics later. I am thinking of doing the following to my next banshee. V force II reeds, rocket-T5- or fatties, Dyna FS ignition, larger carbs but what brand and how large? I dont want to lose all my bottom end because I ride trails to. A boost bottle, How much porting/head milling, I heard passion was good on here? What does it mean to lighten a fly wheel, how much is it?, Kand N filter with air snorkal removed, and what else? Remember I am looking to keep the reliability of stock, b/c I ride sometimes very far away from people. Thanks Quote

locogato11283 Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Eric Gorr's Forward Motion he does a badass woods port. thats what my brother has in his banshee and he will easily run with top end ported bikes. i think the port costs around 200 bucks. i highly recommend this port job. if you arent a believer watch some of our hillclimb videos and check out my brothers(stclark04) banshee. its fast. hes run 17 tooth front sprocket on some of these hills too so i know hell pull a high gear. give him a call. decon Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 dont get bigger carbs, u will lose bottom/mid range power. u need more mid range for woods and coal hills. get some fattys, dont get a boost bottle, they are worthless crap. lightening the flywheel takes off the mass allow your banshee to rev faster and increases throttle response, costs roughly around $60? if you want some real power, get a 12 port stroker from passion racing, http://www.passionracingengines.com/ . if it costs too much just get a mild port. a trinity 2 in 1 35mm carb setup is real good for low end and mid range, http://www.trinityracing.com/ . cyp65 Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Hey, Im new to this, but I live in NEPA where the coals banks are the thing to ride. I have no problem with what i put together. super88_banshee Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 (edited) I don't know what kind of power i have number wise. my mods are listed below Toomey T-5s K&N Pro-Flow kit Vitos SS pistons .20 over Head Milled .35thousands Smoothed intake & exhaust ports Case matching 290 jets in stock carbs +4 timing advance Boost Bottle Boysen Reeds w/ stock cages 14/42 gearing I too have yet to find a hill that i cannot climb. You can start at the bottom of large hills at L.S. and keep runnin thru the gears all the way up(generally only use third at most). It is kinda doggy on bottom end thou. I was thinking about the future and debating between a +4 stroker/longrod crank, or the trinity 2 into 1 carb setup?? i don't know which one i would enjoy more. I'm also thinkin about flywheel lightening. Oh how i wish things could be free Edited October 22, 2004 by super88_banshee Quote
