FIRST BANSHEE Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 I am replacing my clutch and would like to know if I should use a factory or aftermarket, which one is best Thanks Jim Quote
racer Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 the best clutch is a R-6 clutch. use 5-6 fibers, barnett steels, and toomey springs. you dont have to use all of them though, most people just use 3 toomeys and 3 regulars Quote
BdBanshee Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 If the motor is still stock, then stock parts work fine. When you add more HP you will need to upgrade to at least new, stiffer springs. Quote
Nightrider Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 I agree,I think that any clutch is only as good as the springs. At least go with some ebc, moose or barnett springs Quote
graves Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 (edited) Go to this site and check out the post I started. this setup will end all clutch problems from now on. http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...o=&fpart=1&vc=1 Edited October 18, 2004 by graves Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Barnett makes a good clutch. Just put one in the 99, grabs nice. Used 3 Barnett springs and 3 stock springs. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 i always use ebc clutches. they are fairly cheap and you can get them through rmatv. Quote
ledofthezep Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I'm running a dirtdigger with 3stock & 3barnett springs, no problems or complaints as of now. My next will be a tusk clutch, cheap & haven't heard one bad thing about them. Quote
