That would be "feather the clutch"

For the holeshot just hold it wide open and clutch and shift without lifting on the gas. Leave it in 3rd or 4th using the clutch to pick up rpms and shift when when you think you need to.

I heard a parrots feather is the best for that. All depends on how much you want to feather the clutch.On my street bike I just use a standard Blue Jay feather though.

hell i havent had a clutch lever for a wile now.i just start it in gear and go.to shft i let off the gas and kick the hell outa my shifter

In a good, long drag race (like 1000 ft or something) out in the field I usually start in 1st. I whind out the motor 1st through 3rd, then I kinda short shift a little in 4th and 5th, then when I get in 6th, I feather the clutch till I get wide open. Wins Every Times

gear shifting:- my brother usually hangs off the left hand side of the bike and when i say "up" he clicks the gears up......when i say "down" he clicks the gear down,

At a dead stop I put mine in 2 nd, pop the clutch and power shift to the finish line.
