Cotton eyed Joe Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 just curious, how do you call or say when you hit the clutch to get the revs up? down here we call it translated to english "to comb the clutch". In spanish will be "peinar el embrague" That would be "feather the clutch" Quote
Wassup350 Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 For the holeshot just hold it wide open and clutch and shift without lifting on the gas. Leave it in 3rd or 4th using the clutch to pick up rpms and shift when when you think you need to. Quote

BansheeJerry Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 (edited) I heard a parrots feather is the best for that. All depends on how much you want to feather the clutch. On my street bike I just use a standard Blue Jay feather though. Edited September 29, 2004 by BansheeJerry Quote
superchicken Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 hell i havent had a clutch lever for a wile now.i just start it in gear and go.to shft i let off the gas and kick the hell outa my shifter Quote
trail rider Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 In a good, long drag race (like 1000 ft or something) out in the field I usually start in 1st. I whind out the motor 1st through 3rd, then I kinda short shift a little in 4th and 5th, then when I get in 6th, I feather the clutch till I get wide open. Wins Every Times Quote
tithead Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 gear shifting:- my brother usually hangs off the left hand side of the bike and when i say "up" he clicks the gears up......when i say "down" he clicks the gear down, i think NYUK has it covered tho. Quote
