sredish Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Hey all. Just picked up some Sunoco 104 unleaded, oxygenated to 4.5%. I don't run race too much, but when I do it's from another place and it isn't oxygenated. What is the "typical" percent of oxygen and is this something I need to be careful with if it has a lot? I realize if it has a lot that I might need to bump up my fuel a tad to compensate for the extra oxygen. I haven't ran this new stuff too much, but I'm gonna check it out this week and run some plug tests and all. Just wanted some experienced opnions on it. GT Plus is what I now have. Thanks fellas. Starscream Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 the one friend i know that used it, said the cost wasnt worth the improvment, and it smells horrible, you can smell on the other side of the garage as soon as he opend the cover. Quote
racer Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 star, i dunno what your friend was running but it must have been old. a couple of my buds run u4 in their 450s and it smells like candy. Quote
Wassup350 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I run cam 2 in my shee and it smells incredible. Its got to be the best smell in the world in my opinion. Quote
BigRed350x Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Anyone heard of running jet fuel from any of the air ports in their two strokes? I heard stories about that, always wondered if you really could, what difference it would make. Quote

locogato11283 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 scott, we just got some of that exact shit for our last hillclimb in minnesota last month. it will make a big difference. i didnt notice any that i needed to bump up jetting tho. i checked my plugs and they looked pretty good so i left them. to my understanding running the oxygenated is like running part nitro methane. i do know that shit has a very distinct smell and thats what almost everyone at our hillclimbs run. Nice, thanks for the info. I have to find an air leak, and then I'll try some, but want my leak fixed first. Quote
Fireman-hott Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 With it being oxygenated it will burn quicker and more efficiently. Hook the oxygen hose from one of those rebreather masks they put on you in the ambulance, and the other end to a cigarette and watch how quickly that cigarette burns. Poof. Quote
