Splitting the cases

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I haven't posted here in awhile, but I was wondering if you could help me a little.

Last time I went riding I broke a skirt on my piston and so now I am going to have to split the cases to remove the pieces and replace damaged parts.

I have never split the cases before, and my dog ate my Clymers banghead , so I was wondering if you could help me by giving me some tips so I don't screw anything up...

Thanks for the help!!!

Well this story sounds familiar... oh yeah :o it happened to me at dunefest :D

Numero Uno GET A CLYMERS!!! It helped me out a bunch.

While its apart adjust your shift shaft fork and your clutch arm shaft.

Seal it up with Yamabond 4.

Not much i can tell you except stay organised!!! I cant emphisize this enough. Youll be proud that you dont have "spare" parts when you are done.

Good Luck ;)

BTW is it Rocky or Chapparal that has Manuals for 25 bucks?
