Kept hearing some shizzle rattling in the clutch side...well I found the problem. banghead

So what's the best way to hold the damn 'clutch boss' to loosen that big ass nut holding the MF'r on?...don't have the 'grabbit' tool they suggest. :shootself: I'm going to get a new clutch basket, but I need to get the damn boss off 1st.

The best part of this whole deal....I'm leaving for the dunes tomorrow.

p.s....thanks for the pic MEAT, I stole it from your site...

Right on,...that's probably what I'll do, just need to get a socket big enough to fit my 1/2" impact. :shootself: Thanks man!

Could anyone tell me the size of that nut holding the clutch boss on is?---need to know so I can borrow a socket.

$250 for a Hinson, $180 for a stocker.....going to pick up the Hinson this afternoon....yepper, the stealer's taking me from the rear once again. killy.gif

But by god I oughta be pimp'n the banshee this weekend though! :headbang:

Glad you found it out Led. Hope to see you on the dunes, although it'd be a f'ing miracle seeing as my ass will still be in TX.

Later, hope it works out.

I just did the same thing. its a 32mm or a 33mm socket. grab a good landscaping glove, hold on to the clutch boss and hit it with the impact. had no problems once i figured that out. hope this helps, let us know if it works!!!!

mmm, if theres one thing i like more than running an impact at one in the morning its welding at one in the morn, especially arc. you will never have seen so many pissed off neighbors when you direct that mig torch towards their window. it like god him self has arrived. haha :jesterlaugh:

Oh yeah...I'm sure they loved me ripping up the alley at 2AM!

My buddy did that very same thing. But he sent chards of the basket through the crank seal........

I checked mine,...luckily no chunks went through the seal...there were some on the in between the gear & the seal, but nothing pierced through it...probably would have had I tried riding it rather than parking it after I heard the 'pop' when the fingers snapped.wave.gif

Soo.....$280 later, shee's back in commission, Little Sahara here I come!icon_dance.gif
