Cotton eyed Joe Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Pic of the day on bikepics: I don't ride, actually never have piloted a road bike.... If that road was by my house at all I would buy a bike to ride that road. Quote
. Posted July 9, 2004 Author Report Posted July 9, 2004 yeah, no shit. I've never owned one, but have ridden many, and I'd definitely pay 10 grand to rip a road like that Quote

J..J. Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 (edited) Sani Pass, Lesotho, South Africa. Used to be part of the "Roof Of Africa" off-road race about 20 years ago. This road is not too far from me, and better suited to Banshee's, only problem is the 2800m elevation change creates jetting problems near the top. I usually jet with my air boxlid on and remove it when I run out of power near the top. Edit: can't get the damn pic to show!! Don't confuse my reply with the picture shown at the top of the post, it's not the same road. Edited July 9, 2004 by J..J. Quote
antwa Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Have you done the Roof of Africa? Always wanted to do it. Very tuff race! I cant see the Pic ??? Quote
MILO Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 yeah buddy!! that would be great to hit with my cbr! there are some twisty roads here in central pa, but nothing like that! and what a view. almost makes me consider taking a vacation with the shee and the cbr to s africa. i wonder if my wife would approve? J..J. Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Have you done the Roof of Africa? Always wanted to do it. Very tuff race! I cant see the Pic ??? Antwa, you still here boet! How's the shoulder? If you can't see the pic just hit F5 to refresh, it should come up. I've never done the RoA, with my job, the timing has always been wrong, but who knows? Anyways my shee is being set up for exactly that, I've just ordered a long-range tank from Clarke. Been up Sani many times, nothing like the echo of a couple FMF and Toomey Banshee's reverberating of the cliff walls... Quote
