Last night I replaced my rear pads and put on a new brake line. All went good I thought but once all was back together I tested the brakes just by rollin the wheels in place and pumpin the lever. They seemed to work fine then I tried again a lil later and it seems that I have to "prime" it by pumping the lever a few times till the caliper actually clamps hard. Prior to "priming" I could spin the wheels with a little force just from me while the brake was locked up.

What the hell did I do? :shootself: It was late and I had a few "man-pops" in me but damn. If anyone knows of something I may have missed or fudged up let me know. Thanks!

You probably just need to bleed some air out of the line. If you don't know how to do that, search or look in the service manual. I'm crunched for time and can't explain it at the moment. It's simple though.

I got all the air out. Might have I left some dirt or such around the piston? When I think about it theres not much to it, I'll just take it apart and make sure its clean and redo it again. I just was'nt sure if there was a little "thingy" I could have forgotten. Thanks sredish,

Thanks again guys. Aparantly the beer did'nt get all the air out. Or the beer caused the dumbass to not get all the air out, banghead whichever. I will double check it again tonight and kick myself in the ass. Thanks, :D

K guys, tonight I got to get some time in on her and I ended trying to bleed the rear brake. I pumped & pumped the lever and I got a few sputters and then nothing

I rechecked my line and it is fine, I checked the two hookups and they are fine and clean, I tried again, same problem. I am removing my PussBrake, could that in anyway be a or the part of my problem? I did not receive my block off yet but I did have it off then put it back. I am really stumped here cause a single hydraulic brake should not be confusing me this bad. Could I have munged up the piston in the caliper? I am really wound at the moment, I need to finalize the tinkering on my Shee by Saturday and I am behind in my mind. Any more type of help/critisism/jokes and or absolute laughter would be great, I am just brain farting over here! banghead

The vacuum pump or one-man bleeder bolts are worth their weight in gold for brake jobs. Got a vacuum pump for like $20, lifetime warranty, and it works wonders on brake systems.
