Klotzban1 Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 I've heard several people tell me that you can get shrink wrap that slides over the atv levers and all you have to do is heat it up and it forms to what you put it on.. I thought the name would be lever skins or something like that. I wonder if you can do that to the upper part of a kick starter? Has anyone heard of this stuff? Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 sounds like electrical heat shrink wrap to me like what you buy at the hardware store maybe i am on the wrong track tho Quote
ranshee Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 Yea its prolly shrink wrap, if not it would prolly still work though. You should be able to get it at home depot or any electrical contractors store. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 theres some other shit thats like it, get it in jcwhitney its like a tool grip paste, you put it on there with like a brush and it forms a plastic grip type of deal, its pretty cheap to might wanna look at that Quote
BradleyGZ Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 Lowes and probbaly home depot also has this stuff called plasti-dip i belive that is what it is called. All it is, is liquid rubber kinda. say you got a pair of pliers you would dip the handle down in it and it makes a rubber coating. You could do that with the levers. And I wouldnt see why heat srink wouldnt work either. just if you can find some big enough to slide over the levers. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 thats the stuff i was tinkin about, couldent remember the name! welcome to the hq to man Quote
dnhyoung Posted June 20, 2004 Report Posted June 20, 2004 They make 2 different kind of the heat shrink. One kind has a sealing gel on the inside of the heat shrink to seal out moisture for underground splices, the other doesn't. Just make sure what kind you get, because the heat shrink with the sealing gel will ooze out of the ends, and stays very tacky. If you have any trouble finding some, let me know, we probably have some at the shop. Quote
SICK BOY Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 What also works is to wrap your levers with the fabiric tape they use on the end of hockey sticks. It gives good grip, and is wears good. Quote

dogboystoy Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 Yep, Heat Shrink, or Shrink Tube. Same stuff, Pretty tough. Can be expensive. But for what you need it will be fairly cheap. I think the hardware store carries some. Quote
