loganskinner Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 i just got insurance on mine. i didnt realize it was so cheap, but my insurance which covers theft, collision, vandalism, and basically anything else that could happen to it is only like $450 a year with a $250 deductible. makes me sleep easy at night. plus, if it is stolen or totaled, Progressive pays me the book value of the bike, PLUS $1000 free for custom parts. they give you the $1000 no matter if you had the parts or not. i dont have much money, and the $450 was hard to spend, but its the only way to go for me. haha727 Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 the storage place was fenced in and you had to use a key card to get but the gate was open for a whole day and night they said lightning struck it, they do have a log of everyone that comes in and out using there keycard but it could of been anybody considering gate was open but also it may not of been that exact night anytime between the 16th of may and 18th. they did not have video surveilence which was a big mistake on our part for using one without that We are not sure how they got in our unit probally cut the lock off they even left with the lock maybe tossed it somwhere else but they took the 2 atvs and a 5 gallon gas can , they left the extra tires a flag to use at the dunes and some ramps. Yeah it sucks big time , sorry to hear about everyone else that has gotten their atvs stolen or for that matter anything stolen. I would recomend to have a enclosed trailer that way when you are hauling it somwhere everyone does not see it and decide to follow you and take it cause is a possibilty that might be what happened. when we get another atv first thing we are gonna do is put insurance on it the same day we get it. haha727 Posted December 24, 2004 Author Report Posted December 24, 2004 thanks, I hope so to not looking to likly considering how long it has been already but hey maybe eventually will have luck, not to long ago 2 guys got caught with about 10 stolen atvs and sleds somwhere north of here called to find out if maybe one or both of ours were one of them but had to leave a voice mail and have not heard anything. even if ours is not one of the 10 found glad that some people will be getting theirs back and hopefully in good condition Quote

Its kinda scary riding around and a hwy is right across a field from you. All those cars going by could be the one watching your schedual each day. Thieves Suck!!! haha727 Posted December 30, 2004 Author Report Posted December 30, 2004 they took the lock and tossed it elsewhere so no it has not been checked for finger prints. an idea for all those that have your atvs in your garage you know those baby cams the ones they sell now instead of baby monitors get one of those hook it up in your garage , and in your house hook it up to a vcr so you can tape what goes on in your garage, i know somone who has one hooked up to their basement backdoor and they are not to expensive about $100.00 not bad considering it will let you rest a little easier knowing that if they get stolen you can identify who did it and have proof.
