adeezy9183 Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 hey guys i was wondering if it was suppose to sputter and stuff right before you run out of gas and have to switch her over to reserve. thanks guys Quote
. Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 mine always had one cylinder cut out....depends how hard you're on the gas when it happens I guess Quote
adeezy9183 Posted May 26, 2004 Author Report Posted May 26, 2004 ok thanks guys. it happens right before i have to switch it to reserve and then when i switch it to reserve it doesn't run right. is that normal for reserve or not? i'm asking this becauseh when i'm on reserve it cuts out sometime and doesn't want to wind all the way out. is this normal or not? thanks guys. . Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 you might have a clogged petcock.....which actually could be leading to a lot of your other problems with it running lean and such.....if you were sucking the bowls dry it could of went lean on you a little bit (just a possibility) Pull the petcock off and give it a good cleaning and see if that helps any. You get that new top end on yet? Quote
adeezy9183 Posted May 26, 2004 Author Report Posted May 26, 2004 yea i put that new top end on. i am new to this technical stuff so what is a petcock? i'll have to get some more gas and see how it runs with a full tank. hey kyle you got that t-maxx running yet? i hope so cuz it's been a while. what do ya think of it? sredish Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 A "petcock" is the little thingy that you turn to shut off the fuel or switch to the reserve, you know, the little thingy on the bottom of the gas tank that the hose connects to for the carb. If you get trash or dirt in there, it can often clog up and limit the flow of fuel threw there. There is a screen, you can take all the fuel out and clean the screen and see what happens. Also, while your at it, throw on a clear inline fuel filter between it and the carb, if you haven't already. Later. Quote
adeezy9183 Posted May 26, 2004 Author Report Posted May 26, 2004 okay, this damn thing is really starting to piss me off. their can't be a clog in the petcock because when i unhook the gas line from the carb and turn the gas on, it pours out so their must be another problem. also, i took the plugs out and noticed that no the end of one of the plugs the metal piece that hangs out was broken off and hopefully it didn't do anything to the piston. have any of you guys seen that before? i put new plugs in it and it still doesn't want to start. i just rebuilt the damn thing and it isn't even running pleeeeez help Quote

sredish Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 i took the plugs out and noticed that no the end of one of the plugs the metal piece that hangs out was broken off and hopefully it didn't do anything to the piston damn man, i wouldn't be buying any lottery tickets, cause your luck just ain't there. I'd also say pull the head and see if there's any damage before you do much more. WTF is up with your luck. Sorry to hear. Scott Quote
J..J. Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Are you still running the 15cc domes? You need to check your compression, from reading your other posts, you haven't done anything to fix the "hole in the piston" problem you had before. In fact, reading about the plug electrode, you might be on the way to the same problem again. If you have measured the compression, what is it? Quote
adeezy9183 Posted May 28, 2004 Author Report Posted May 28, 2004 no shit man. it seems like every bike i get, idon't have any luck. i wish i could figure out what the hell is wrong with the damn thing. it really pisses me off man. i haven't measure the compression yet. i am gonna pull the head off and if nothing is wrong with the pistons, i'll get the compression measured. one more thing. i already put a new top end that has been bored .60 over so the piston with the hole was fixed, so i don't know what could be the problem. it seems to have good compression, so i don't know what could be the problem.
