  1. hey guys i am looking to trade my 2004 polaris scrambler 500 4x4 H.O and my 2002 banshee for a honda, yamaha, or suzuki 450. let me know what you have requardless. everything will be considered. thanks mods are as follows: 2002 banshee: -bored .20 over with wiseco pro-lite pistons -mikuni 30mm carbs w/ steel braided throttle cable -pro design 2 into 1 airbox. -all motor and carb work was done in october. i have the invoice -banshee has stock exhaust. has 22 inch dirt devil tires on rear in great shape. -moose boost bottle -bike is in overall great shape for its age. starts on 1st or 2nd kick. -still isn't broken in yet. carbs may need minor tuning. i haven't messed with them. runs great but if you let it idle for 2 long. i've replaced the plugs twice since i've gotten it. 2004 polaris scrambler 500 4x4 H.O.: -Pro circuit T-4 full exhaust -jetted carb -k and n with outer wears -2000 lb. warn winch -trailor hitch -tires in good shape I recieved both of these bikes on a trade for an 88 mustang rolling chassis setup for drag racing. nothing is wrong with either of them. i would like to get a 450. let me know what you guys have. thanks also i can get pics up. let me know your email. thanks
  2. bike is bored .20 over. 30 mm mikuni carbs. pro design intake. is it possible 2 take off old plate without an impact wrench
  3. i was wondering how hard it is to install one of the adjustable timing plates. and what timing to set it on? i hear +4 is the best. also will 93 octane be good enough? thanks guys
  4. hey guys, i was wondering if an ignition box is worth the money. i hear people say that it will make your bike run a lot better and you won't foul plugs as much. is this true. if so which ones do you recommend? thanks
  5. hey guys i just got my banshee. it's my second one. I am thinking it's too rich, because i just replaced the plugs the last time i was riding and i started it up today and took it up the street and back and let it sit and idle for like 15 seconds it idles perfectly. i took it back out and one of the plugs were fouled so i parked it. i mix the gas and oil 32-1. I haven't torn the carbs apart yet to see what jets are in it. the bike doesn't run like it's rich. once it's warmed up it runs really great. do i have to keep it revved up every now and then or is it too rich. thanks guys. also what jets should i change? should i move the needle a clip? help me out here. thanks
  6. if i got the key and changed the timing to 4 degrees, i wouldn't have to run race gas would i? i run 93 now and i don't wanna pay over 6$ a gallon for 110 or whatever. lol. f&%k that. so if i put the paul turner midrange pipes on it and advanced the timing 4 degrees, i would notice a big difference? would i also have to rejet? i already have a pro design air intake set up
  7. what's the easiest way to advance the timing 4 degrees? should i get one of those keys or a programmer type thing? would i have to change the jetting on the carbs?
  8. I plan on riding mostly woods/trails. maybe an occasional spin on a track. hill climbs stuff like that. i'm guessing a low to mid pipe would be the best. what would you recommend. i had a dynaport 2 into 1 on my old banshee and the 2 into 1 carb kit. i love that power band tho!!
  9. hey guys i just got an 02 banshee and an 04 polaris scrambler 500 4x4. funny thing is i traded an 88 mustang gt rolling chassis setup for drag racing. the shee was just bored .20 over with wiseco pistons in october. it has 30 mm mikuni carbs, boost bottle and a pro-flow intake kit. ( i think that's the brand name. not sure) anyways, theirs nothing wrong with either of them. the polaris even has a winch and a tow hitch on it. both are in great shape. the guy even gave me the invoice 4 the motor work on the banshee. I have to say that it is the fastest banshee i have been on. i know the jetting is spot on. it starts on the 1st kick and i don't even have to choke it and the weather here has been about 40 degrees on average. it has the stock pipes on it. im not for sure if it has aftermarket reeds or not. anyways, i was wondering what mods i could do to it to make it even better. it has big ass dirt devil tires on it now, so i know hole shots or mx razrs alone would make it run better, due to the weight difference. anyways, thanks and keep up the good work. later
  10. hey guys i tore the head off the 400ex this evening and the springs and stuff look fine from the top so i don't think they're broke but i look on the underside of the head and the things the springs move and easily hitting the top of the head when they go up and down. do you guys know what causes that? it's almost like they loosened up somehow and are hitting the head on every compression. PLEEZ help
  11. hey guys i got an 01 400 ex that i have been riding for the past few months with no problems. it is bored .20 over with a k and n filter. just recently it has been making a metal on metal clinging noise every time the piston goes up and down. people have told me that a valve spring has broke and that's the problem. is that the problem and if it is how hard is it to replace and how much? could i do it myself? I use to have a banshee and i could work on them pretty good. i know theirs a difference in the engine though. thanks a lot guys.
  12. hey guys i really need a steering knuckle for the right side of the shee. thanks guys. i know you guys have some of that stuff lying around. thanks
  13. hey man thanks but i just got one off of ebay for 75 bucks used. thanks a lot though
  14. hey guys i was just wondering if anyone had a cdi box for an 88 ly250r quadracer. it just recently went bad and a new one is like 350 dollars brand new. that's the cheapest i could find and i know a lot of you people on here know a lot of people so pleez guys can you help me out. it would be greatly appreciated. thanks....andrew
  15. the steering knuckele. the only part other than the brake rotor or the hub. i am not sure if it's called the spindle or not but in the clymer it's called the steering knuckle. it's the part you neet to beat on to remove the top and bottom ball joint. if you have those i'm very interested. however, i really don't like to send out a money order without a pic so i'd rather see a pic before i send the money out, or you could send the part and i'll send the money order when i get it, however i know most people don't like doing that unless they've did business with the same person before. it's your call. you can ask bansheeboy990 or the guy with the screen name . yea that's his name. it's just a period. i traded him my t-maxx for a fresh top end and i traded my single dynaport pipe for dual fattys to bansheeboy990. they can all vouch for my positive feedback. thanks
  16. you have a pm and yes i am very interested can you post or email me pics
  17. hey guys pleez tell me someone has a right steering knuckle because i need one asap becausei am going riding next weekend. thanks guys
  18. you wouldn't happen to have a right steering knuckle would you? if anyone does pleez pm me because i can't pay the price for a brand new one. they want crack prices for that shit...lol
  19. don't change the mix ratio. stick to what you were mixing. if you change it, then you'll more than likely have jetting problems and all that
  20. i have always used b8es. worked fine for me
  21. hey i don't have the stock control arms. they are roll design and their is like a 4 slotted bolt that looks like you need some kind of special tool to remove it. it's about an in from side to side (the bolt and i can see from underneath the arm that it's threaded. now, what are your suggestions
  22. hey i was wondering if the dissasemnly of the steering knuckle would be any different if i had roll design +2 +1 a-arms, because i think they are because on the top of the ball joint, pointing up their are like fou slots in the control arm, making it look like you need a tool to remove it. okay thanks guys.
  23. hey boonman thanks for the help but the link to the pic doesn't work. try it again. thanks
  24. come on guys help me out. is their some kind of tool i need to get it off? it looks like four prongs or something on the right steering knuckle
  25. i snapped the steering knuckle on my banshee and was wondering what kind of special tool i needed to take it completely off. the tool that has four prong like thingys. what the hell kind of tool do i need to remove that damn thing. pleez help guys. thanks
