adeezy9183 Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 how in the hell do you remove the c-clips holding the wrist pins inside the piston. is their a special tool you need to remove them? i was getting pretty frustrated tryin to get them out but had no luck. help Quote
J..J. Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 First thing, cover the crankcase with a rag or towel to stop the li'l bastard from falling in there. Next, use a small screw driver to swivel the clip around to the little cut-out in the piston. Then get a pair of long nose pliers to fit into the cut-out, grab that sucker and twist it out. Next TROW IT AWAY! Quote

adeezy9183 Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 i got them out this morning, and it seems that their are small fragments of metal down in the crank case and the mechanic said that kerosene or diesel fuel poured in the crank case should clean it out real good. is their a drain plug for the crankshaft because i accidentlypoured some in there. lol. if not i can just tip it over. thanks guys Quote
troyminator Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 and it seems that their are small fragments of metal down in the crank case and the mechanic said that kerosene or diesel fuel poured in the crank case should clean it out real good Could be scary...you never know if you got all of the metal pieces out of there. I had some metal in my crank case...so I split them and there was alot more inside...don't think I could have got it all out by drowning it in fluid and dumping it out. Just my .02:) T Quote
