My guess is it goes around the piston ring groove first, then you put the ring on and it keeps the piston ring expanded and centered. But hopefully someone who has done this before can answer it for you. And I will also guess that it goes on the first (top) ring.

Nope, can't say that I've seen one of those. What rings did you get? I don't even know if I'd use it..rings should sit withing like 5 thousands in. gap when they're compressed in the cylinder. They are banshee pison rings I assume...Cause 4 joker's got an oil seal on the pistons and I belive that that's what goes behind it.

It goes in the second groove.Then the ring goes over it.Nik's Pro-x.

 

You got it bkabina!!! that is exactly what I have been told.... Are you runnig ProX pistons?
